Mark Your Calendar for Family Service Saturday!
and reflect on living out our faith during the season of Lent. The event will be held on Saturday, March 21, from 10 am to 2 pm. Families are encouraged to drop in anytime during the event! For more information and to RSVP for the event, visit the Family Service Saturday website. |
Do You Crochet?
For the Family Service Saturday event, we need a few people who know how to crochet to help create the sleeping mats for the homeless. Instead of yarn, plastic bag strips (already formed into "yarn" balls) are used to crochet the sleeping mats. If you are available on March 21 anytime between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm and are willing to either help crochet the "yarn" balls into mats, or teach others how to do so, please contact Holly Forseth at the parish for more information. We would love for you to join us and share your skill with our community!

CRS Lenten Rice Bowls
This third week of Lent, CRS Rice Bowl introduces us to Habibou from a village in rural Niger. During the "hungry season," the time when food supplies run out and prices rise, Habibou has to leave his family in search of work far away from his village and his family. Watch this week's Story of Hope video to learn how Habibou's involvement with a CRS project allowed him to stay in his village, close to his family during this year's hungry season. Will your family join Catholics across the US in this week's fast from meat all week long? Remember to put your savings into your CRS Rice Bowl to change the lives of families like Habibou's.
Prayer: For workers around the world, that they may find productive employment and earn fair wages for their labor. We pray to the Lord.
Activity: Make a meatless meal with your family and share a photo (and your recipe!) on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with #4Lent4Life.

Financial Aid
As we prepare to enroll our students for the 2015 - 16 academic year, please note that the various student tuition assistance organizations (STOs) have different deadlines and procedures for their application process. For a list of organizations that have supported SJB students over the past few years, click here.
Catholic Education Arizona (CEA)
The application process for the 2015 - 16 school year is now open. Catholic Education Arizona uses FAIR-Financial Aid Independent Review to process its applications. Please note that there is a $24.00 application fee. The application is available online or you can also download the CEA-FAIR brochure for 2015 - 16. The CEA school code is 700 and the school password is cea700. If you fax your supporting documents to FAIR, be sure to confirm receipt with FAIR. CEA application deadline for round one awards is April 15. Parents will be notified of the disposition of your submitted application by CEA by June 30, 2015.
Brophy Community Foundation
The Brophy Community Foundation applications for financial aid for the 2015 - 16 school year are now available at this link. The Foundation's application deadline is April 15--there is no charge for applications submitted on or before April 15. All families who have received an award previously must re-apply every year. Please note that the Foundation uses FACTS to process their applications. This FACTS grant and financial aid system is different from the tool that SJB uses for our FACTS tuition management. If your family applies for CEA scholarship funds, you are encouraged to consider submitting an online application to the Brophy Community Foundation.
If you have any questions regarding financial aid resources, please feel free to email Caroline Panzarella, SJB Operations Manager at 480.219.4845.
