Lenten Longings for Moms

Lent is the perfect season to consciously make time for God. St. Benedict is hosting a Lenten Longings group for Moms of all ages on Thursday mornings at 8:15 am during Lent. Drop your kids off at school, then walk over to the St. Benedict meeting room to join with other moms in discussing scripture and our faith, and how to apply both to our lives.

For more information and to sign up, visit the Lenten Longings page and choose the "Moms of all ages" session or contact Sr. Colleen for more information.

Box Tops for Education

The December check is here from Box Tops for Education! All of your hard work in catching, clipping, and saving those Box Tops netted the teachers $1,243--that is huge! And a very big thank you to all the parents and students who do save and turn in those Box Tops! The teachers will be getting vouchers in their mailbox to let them know what their class earned so they can purchase supplies they need. Also, just a friendly reminder that Safeway is set up with eBox Tops with your Safeway rewards card. Just log in to the Safeway website and under "Settings", designate St. John Bosco as the school to receive your bonus eBox Tops. All of this adds up to a lot of money for the school. Thank you again!

Sunshine Committee

Do you know someone in our community who is having a baby, facing an illness, or just needs a little extra help right now with carpool/meals, etc.?  Contact the Sunshine Committee... We can lend a hand!

Re-Enrollment for the 2015-16 School Year

The re-enrollment process will open on February 17 and will be done online--all families will receive an email on February 17 to initiate this process. Look for more information coming soon!

RenWeb/FACTS Update

Did you know that Renweb and FACTS-Nelnet Business Solutions have merged! Over the next year we will see a streamlining of these two software systems that SJB uses for admissions, re-enrollment, report cards and tuition management.

The one improvement that is available at this time is single service sign-on. When you log onto  RenWeb-Parents Web, go to Family Information and open the drop down menu-there you can click on Tuition Plan. The first time you initiate this link you will see: If FACTS has not opened automatically in a new browser window/tab, then click here to open FACTS. Which will take you to the FACTS sign-on page.  The first time time you log into FACTS through RenWeb you will need to sign in but after that you will automatically be able to access your FACTS account without having to log into two separate systems.

This is a great improvement to both systems! We hope you are able to take advantage of this enhancement.

Financial Aid

As we prepare to enroll our students for the 2015 - 16 academic year, please note that the various student tuition assistance organizations (STOs) have different deadlines and procedures for their application process. For a list of organizations that have supported SJB students over the past few years, click here.

Catholic Education Arizona (CEA)

The application process for the 2015 - 16 school year is now open. Catholic Education Arizona uses FAIR-Financial Aid Independent Review to process its applications. Please note that there is a $24.00 application fee. The application is available online or you can also download the CEA-FAIR brochure for 2015 - 16. The CEA school code is 700 and the school password is cea700. If you fax your supporting documents to FAIR, be sure to confirm receipt with FAIR. CEA application deadline for round one awards is April 15. Parents will be notified of the disposition of your submitted application by CEA by June 30, 2015.

Brophy Community Foundation

The Brophy Community Foundation applications for financial aid for the 2015 - 16 school year are now available at this link. The Foundation's application deadline is April 15--there is no charge for applications submitted on or before April 15. All families who have received an award previously must re-apply every year. Please note that the Foundation uses FACTS to process their applications. This FACTS grant and financial aid system is different from the tool that SJB uses for our FACTS tuition management. If your family applies for CEA scholarship funds, you are encouraged to consider submitting an online application to the Brophy Community Foundation.

If you have any questions regarding financial aid resources, please feel free to email Caroline Panzarella, SJB Operations Manager at 480.219.4845.

PTO Volunteer of the Month
Congratulations, Clare Miller! Clare Miller was nominated by Mrs. Ahearne for the January Volunteer of the Month. Mrs. Miller volunteers in the library, she works at the gate and she's been a great CAP volunteer. Mrs. Miller does all of this with enthusiasm and a smile! Thank you, Mrs. Miller for being such a wonderful example of an SJB community builder.

If you want to nominate a Volunteer of the Month there are forms in the PTO folder in the front office file cabinet. The volunteer of the month gets a shout out in The Bite and the rockstar parking spot at the front of the school. PTO loves to recognize the folks that make St. John Bosco a special place, so please nominate!
