School News 
Winter Sports Eligibility
Eligibility checks for after-school sports will begin on Monday, December 15, the third week in the Trimester per the Parent/Student Handbook.  All student athletes must have 75 or higher in each subject. Reports are always run on Monday, unless it is a holiday. If a student is ineligible, they will not be allowed to attend practices or games for one week beginning on Tuesday of that week and are able to resume practice/games on the following Tuesday, pending grade checks.
Christmas Program

Girls on the Run Online Registration Ends December 21

Girls on the Run is a non-profit prevention program that encourages preteen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running. This is a program for EVERY girl! Girls of all fitness levels will feel encouraged & challenged. Our team will have between 6 -15 girls and Cheryl Spindler, Jeaneen Thiele and Jennie O'Hea will be our coaches. Registration is available online and is offered to girls in 3rd - 5th grades. Use Your Tax Dollars to Support Catholic Education in Arizona
Keep your state income tax dollars in our Catholic faith. When you get home today, pull out your return from 2013 and take look at your tax liability. Even if you receive a refund, you are paying taxes! You have a choice to give these monies to the state or you can help support those in our Catholic community by keeping it in our faith. News from the Business Office
It's time to start thinking about school registration for the 2015-16 school year! In January, Parish Verifications will be sent out. The Parish Verification is used to confirm your family's participation status at your Parish. The Parish Verification is used by the school to establish your student's tuition rate. Please make sure that you have fulfilled your Parish's requirements to be considered an active member. If your family has a change in your Parish registration, please contact Caroline Panzarella, Operations Manager with the most up-to-date information. Any questions can also be directed to our Operations Manager.
Moms' Club News

Christmas Program Reception

Join the SJB Family in the MPR immediately following the Christmas Program! After enjoying the wonderful talents of our St. John Bosco students, please join the SJB Moms' Club for a dessert reception in the MPR. Bring small, bite size desserts like cookies, donut holes, brownie bites, mini cupcakes, etc. to the MPR before you head over to St. Benedict for the program. JUST A REMINDER - NO NUTS.  You can drop off desserts anytime between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm in the MPR. Please put the desserts in the kitchen. No cakes or pies or anything that needs to be cut/served. We appreciate your delicious contributions to our Christmas reception and look forward to seeing you there.  If you have any questions about the reception, please contact the SJB Moms' Club.

SJB Trivia Night 
The 9th Annual SJB Dads' Club Trivia Night is coming up - Saturday January 24, 2015 at 6 pm. Start gathering a team of eight of your wisest friends and family... then get ready to rumble!  Who will have Trivia bragging rights in 2015?
Scrip News 
We are open all this week for your last-minute holiday needs. Please note that due to early release on Friday, we will sell scrip from 11:30 am - 12:15 pm.  All other days, we will have our regular hours. Harkins Cups and Harkins Cup Packages are still available!

Family Promise

St. Benedict/St. John Bosco School, in partnership with Esperanza Lutheran Church and the Rotary Club of Ahwatukee, will host families through the Family Promise Program from December 28, 2014 to January 4, 2015. Leaders of Tomorrow Art and Poetry Contest

Seton Catholic Prep is accepting entries for the Leaders of Tomorrow Art and Poetry Contest, which celebrates Seton's 60th anniversary and honors the special gifts in all children set forth by St. Elizabeth Ann Seton: Courage, Determination, Faith and Love. Open to all 6th - 8th graders. Students can earn recognition for themselves and their school, and WIN cash and other prizes. For more information on how to enter, click here.

Email information you would like published in the BITE to bulldogbite@sjbosco.org. Include the Monday date(s) you would like the information to run.  Photos and pdf documents may be included in your email.  
Early submission is encouraged.  
Information received after 3 pm on the Wednesday before the Monday publication will run the following week.
