School News 
Cardinals MVP in the Classroom
Congratulations to Mrs. Prezkop who was selected as an Arizona Cardinals MVP in the Classroom! She was honored at the Cardinal home game this past Sunday. We have such amazing teachers!


Bulldog Ambassadors Host Mass
A huge thank you to our Bulldog Ambassadors who hosted Mass at St. Benedict this past Sunday! Our Ambassadors did a fantastic job representing St. John Bosco and the parishioners enjoyed watching the students celebrate our Catholic faith in such a mature and respectful manner.
Winter Sports Eligibility
Eligibility checks for after-school sports will begin on Monday, December 15, the third week in the Trimester per the Parent/Student Handbook.  All student athletes must have 75 or higher in each subject. Reports are always run on Monday, unless it is a holiday. If a student is ineligible, they will not be allowed to attend practices or games for one week beginning on Tuesday of that week and are able to resume practice/games on the following Tuesday, pending grade checks.
Christmas Program
We're happy to announce the date of the 14th Annual St. John Bosco Christmas Program! Please join us for a night of celebrating the magical (and musical) holiday season on Thursday, December 18 at 6:00 pm. Click here to download the flyer for more information. We hope to see you there!
Junior High Winter Showcase
On Thursday, December 11, join Dance, Drama, Percussion and Yearbook for our Performing Arts Winter Showcase! There will be an afternoon performance at 1:30 pm and an evening performance at 6:30 pm in the MPR. The St. John Bosco community, family and friends are invited to come to the showcase. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Hamilton.
Snack Shack
Girl Scout Troop 1878 will be running the Snack Shack after school for through the end of the week. Please support our Troop by buying something yummy after school!

Girls on the Run Online Registration NOW OPEN!

Girls on the Run is a non-profit prevention program that encourages preteen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running. This is a program for EVERY girl! Girls of all fitness levels will feel encouraged & challenged. Our team will have between 6 -15 girls and Cheryl Spindler, Jeaneen Thiele and Jennie O'Hea will be our coaches. Online registration is available online and is offered to girls in 3rd - 5th grades. Moms' Club News
Moms Club Ornament Exchange
The exchange will be Tuesday, December 9 at 7 pm. Join us for our annual ornament exchange! Let's get together and celebrate each other and the Christmas season. Please bring a new, wrapped ornament for an ornament exchange. We will supply the yummy dinner, drinks and treats! We look forward to seeing everyone and hope you can make it! Jamma Jingles
Moms' Club will be collecting pajamas for Jamma Jingles through the end of the week. Be sure to turn in your pajamas by Friday, the class with the most Jammie's wins a special treat!

Dads' Club Meeting Friday, December 12, 7 pm in MPR
In addition to discussing Trivia Night coming up on January 24, there will be lots of hot topics. Join us for poker and FREE pizza afterward. 

SJB Trivia Night 
The 9th Annual SJB Dads' Club Trivia Night is coming up - Saturday January 24, 2015 at 6 pm. Start gathering a team of eight of your wisest friends and family... then get ready to rumble!  Who will have Trivia bragging rights in 2015?
Scrip News 
Fry's VIP Card Community Rewards
If you have linked your Fry's VIP card to SJB for Community Rewards, it's time to print out your statement from the past three months. Please log into Fry's and find your report, then bring it to us in the Scrip office if you want to receive Scrip credit for this program.  We must have your report by January 7 in order to apply your funds!  Remember, we cannot access your account for you. Thanks for helping SJB earn more funds! 

See's Candy
We have VERY limited numbers of See's Christmas candy boxes available in the office for $5 each. As in past years, they are $5 apiece.

Harkins Cups
We also still have about 20 Harkins Cup Packages for sale for $17.50. They make great gifts! And 2015 Harkins cups are still for sale. They are $5--each time you take the cup to the theater in 2015, you get a refill for $1.50.  Don't miss out--pick yours up this week! 

Holiday Scrip
Please plan ahead if you will need large quantities of Scrip for the holidays, special orders or unusual denominations. Last day for special orders before break is Monday, December 15.
Parish News 

Family Promise

St. Benedict/St. John Bosco School, in partnership with Esperanza Lutheran Church and the Rotary Club of Ahwatukee, will host families through the Family Promise Program from December 28, 2014 to January 4, 2015. We will host our guests in the Multipurpose Room (MPR) at St. John Bosco. To sign up for volunteer opportunities, click here.

Leaders of Tomorrow Art and Poetry Contest

Seton Catholic Prep is accepting entries for the Leaders of Tomorrow Art and Poetry Contest, which celebrates Seton's 60th anniversary and honors the special gifts in all children set forth by St. Elizabeth Ann Seton: Courage, Determination, Faith and Love. Open to all 6th - 8th graders, students can earn recognition for themselves and their school, and WIN cash and other prizes. Email information you would like published in the BITE to bulldogbite@sjbosco.org. Include the Monday date(s) you would like the information to run.  Photos and pdf documents may be included in your email.  
Early submission is encouraged.  
Information received after 3 pm on the Wednesday before the Monday publication will run the following week.
