Fall Frenzy is Saturday, October 18
All are welcome! Adults are free and children 3 and over are $10 each or a maximum of $40 per family. Once you are in, all you pay for is your food and drinks... the rest - meaning bouncies, petting zoo, obstacle course, Bingo, trivia, games and more - are all included. The fun starts at 4 pm! Fall Frenzy Air Band Deadline Has Been Extended!
Air Band Entry Forms will now be accepted until Wednesday, October 15 at 4 pm! Paper forms are available in both the SJB and St. Benedict's front offices. Only the first 12 completed air band forms received between both the school and the parish will be accepted, so you must hurry! And yes... there will be cash prizes! CCF Christian Service Awards - Deadline Approaching! The Catholic Community Foundation has announced their $8,000 Christian Service Awards are available for 8th graders planning on attending a Catholic High School. Please visit their website to learn more and apply - the deadline is October 15!

Lunchtime Run Club
Attention all Bulldogs! Lunchtime Run Club will be starting on Monday, October 20 and ending Wednesday, February 25. We will run on Mondays and Wednesday. The goal is to run 25 miles! Every time a student in grades 2nd through 8th runs 5 miles or 25 laps, they will earn a toe token. Every time a student in kindergarten or 1st grade runs 2.5 miles or 12 laps, they will earn a toe token - 5 laps around the field equals one mile. Please return permission slip to Mrs. Jimenez if interested!

Hispanic Heritage Night
St. John Bosco's Evening of Hispanic Heritage night will be Wednesday, October 22. Bring a dish to share! Entertainment will be provided by Folklor y Cultura Mexicana. Donations of water, plates, utensils and napkins are greatly appreciated! You can find more information here.

Christmas Dancers
Attention all 4th and 5th grade girls! The Christmas Dancers will begin practicing on Monday, October 20 from 3:15 - 4:30 pm. The Christmas Dancers are open to any 4th or 5th grade girl and will practice every Monday from 3:15 - 4:30 pm until the Christmas Program in December. Third Annual Recycle Bowl This is an national contest that measures our school's recycling each week for one month. Last year, St. John Bosco came in third place in the state, coming home with a cash prize! Help us put out a good showing again this year by bringing your recycled goods and placing them in the blue bins in the parking lot. The City Of Phoenix will recycle paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, aluminum and glass. Please no plastic bags, paper towels or Kleenex. Help the earth and St. John Bosco by supporting Recycle Drive!

iPhone Recycling Have you upgraded to the iPhone 6 yet? If so, we will take your old phones! Bring them to school and place them in the white bins by the science room or leave them at the main office. We will also take ink cartridges and old computer parts. Help us keep new technology green! |

Just when you thought, how could SJB Dads' Club come up with another fun event... we did it! What better way to spend a Friday night than roaming around a golf course in Tempe chasing a glow ball? The first reports of the year will be coming home with your youngest child this week. Look for it by Friday! If you have a credit to apply, please let us know soon how you would like it applied. The default application is to take it off November's FACTS payment. If you are paid in full, you have some other options.

Coping with Grief During the Holidays
When people are grieving, the holidays may be a time of mixed emotions. Join St. Benedict for a helpful talk to learn gentle strategies about holiday anxiety after losing a loved one, presented by Hospice of the Valley and parishioner Nadine Condon. The talk will happen after the 11 am mass on November 9, and participants will leave with a helpful workbook to take home. Open to the community!

Cub Scout Popcorn Fundraiser
Popcorn anyone? Support SJB's Cub Scouts in our annual fundraiser: Trail's End Popcorn. We will be selling popcorn at the SJB main gate on Friday, October 17. We will have all the yummy flavors you have come to love: Caramel Corn, Cheese Lover's, Unbelievable Butter, new Jalapeņo Cheddar and more! You will be able to purchase the popcorn and take it home with you on-the-spot. Trail's End has made a lot of improvements this year. All microwave products are made with canola oil and all chocolate products contain no hydrogenated oils, so there are plenty of healthy, flavorful snacks to choose from. The proceeds from the sale are used to support scouting at the Council, District and our Pack level. Thank you for your support!

Seton Golf Classic
The Seton Golf Classic is Sunday, October 26 at the Ocotillo Golf Resort - the Chandler golf course home of Seton Catholic's golf teams. The tournament will be a scramble format with 7:30 am shotgun start. It includes a polo shirt, continental breakfast, and awards luncheon for challenge hole winners and for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and last place teams. Sign-up as an individual, 2-some, 4-some, and/or sponsor.
