Box Tops and Labels for Education
Save Those Box Tops and Labels!
Our goal last year was 20,000 Box Tops and we surpassed that by almost 21,000 collected and turned in--great job! Right now, there is an easy way to earn E-BOX TOPS for our school. Purchase 10 participating items in ONE transaction and receive 50 E-Box Tops! Save your receipt, put a star next to the items purchased, the date, the store and the total dollar amount, take a picture of it on your phone, and email/text it to submit@BTFEreceipts.com.

You will then receive a text or email confirmation code that you REDEEM by logging into www.BTFE.com. Log in with your email and password, click on REDEEM and put in the code. Our school will automatically earn $5.00 each time we do this now through August 31, 2014. There is also an easy step-by-step video that shows you the process on their website as well.  Keep saving those Box Tops and Labels as the grade level who turns in the most through the first week of school (ending on August 22) will earn a FREE DRESS DAY in September.
Volunteer News
Attention Parents/Volunteers: It's Time to Renew Safe Environment!
Diocesan Policy mandates that any adult who volunteers in any capacity with SJB must be current in Safe Environment training. This includes parents and grandparents, classroom or field trip volunteers, coaches, scout leaders, club monitors, etc.

The initial training is a three-hour, in-person class. The next class offered at St. John Bosco is Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 5:00 pm in the MPR.

Once you have taken the class, the annual renewal requirement is an online video that you will watch in your home. Online renewals for this school year must be completed between July 1, 2014 and June 30, 2015, and prior to any volunteer service. Click here and then go to "My Obligations" for renewals. Mrs. Haik will be checking all volunteers who come on campus.
St. Benedict Parish News
The Assumption of Mary

This coming Friday, August 15, is The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This Feast commemorates the death of Mary and her bodily assumption into Heaven before her body could begin to decay - a foretaste of our own bodily resurrection at the end of time. Because this day signifies Mary's passing into eternal life it is the most important of the Marian feasts and is a Holy Day of Obligation. Masses will be in the St. Benedict Church at 7 am, 12 pm and 6 pm.
