School News
Heath Office Reminders
  • Please pick up all unused medication in the health office on or before June 6. 8th grade parents can pick up their child's medications any time after graduation.  Any medication left during the summer will be discarded.
  • Remember to bring a water bottle to school each day and apply sunscreen before coming to school.  Hats are also helpful.
  • With end of the year parties approaching, please check with your teachers before bringing in treats.  Most of our classrooms are Nut Free Zones and several grades have restrictions on foods due to allergies.
  • Please return any borrowed clothing to our office.  We are missing belts, socks, shorts and shirts.
  • The health office accepts used uniforms that we loan out to students as needed.  We are mostly in need to PE shorts (all sizes), belts, and girls' socks.  If your children have outgrown any of these items, feel free to drop them off at the nurse's office.

Bosco on the Bayou
Bosco on the Bayou Rocked!  Thank you to everyone who sponsored the event, attended the event, played golf, raised their bid cards and joined in on the fun!  A special note of thanks to those who spent many days and evenings organizing and coordinating the event:  Anita Buckel, Peter and Christina Grossgold, Jena Gump, Sarah Lisi, Terri Lisi, Joyce Petrowski, Jane Schmidt, Kim Yehle and James and Cheryl Wedell.  And, to the many parents, students and alumni who supported their efforts - Thank you!  Income and expenses are still being tabulated but we definitely reached our goal of being able to purchase computers for all of our wonderful teachers and support staff. We will report back to the community by the end of the week with exactly how much money was raised.
Scholastic Book Fair

Thank you to the St.John Bosco community for supporting the library by buying from the spring book fair.  We sold over $5,000 worth of books and merchandise.  All proceeds will go towards the purchase of new books for the St. John Bosco School Library.

Many thanks to the parents and students who joyfully volunteer for all of the various positions at the book fair. Special thanks goes to the three volunteers who chair the book fair:  Anita Buckel, Ericah Gamez, and Justine Allen.  They work hard to setup, takedown, and provide the fun activities associated with the book fair.     `

With the graduation of her second child, Stephen, this was Anita's last book fair.  We wish her a fond farewell and we are still not quite sure how we will do without her!  Thank you for all your work through the years, Anita! The SJB library is a better place because of you.

Mrs. Larsen's third grade class won the Fiesta for buying more than 80 books, with PreK and Mrs. Neumann's fourth grade coming in a close second and third respectively. Thanks again for your unending support of the SJB Library!

Family Promise Comes to St. John Bosco MPR June 22-28th

Family Promise has a long, successful record of providing families who have lost their homes with the tools and training to get back on their feet. But, because there is a shortage of emergency shelter for homeless families in the Valley, faith communities help provide meals and overnight lodging to those families who have been accepted into this rigorous program. (More information is available at  www.familypromiseaz.org).

Three to four families (about 16 people) will have an evening meal and stay overnight at St. John Bosco for 7 consecutive nights. We provide the meal and fellowship to the families. We will need volunteers to serve as overnight hosts (we provide comfy beds for you to sleep on), and help with set up, clean up and laundering bedding.

A SignUp Genius link will be available soon. If you would like to sign up to help, please respond to tracyryan18@cox.net and Tracy will put your email address on the contact list.
