Yearbook NewsIt's not too late to buy the yearbook! Please go to treering.com/validate and enter the school passcode: 1013434873754555. Although the school deadline is on April 18, we suggest that you purchase as soon as possible so that you can plan and design your custom pages way ahead. Custom Pages! Each yearbook purchase comes with two FREE pages which you can design to make it uniquely your own. Last year, families used the custom pages in different ways. They used it to post pictures of birthday parties, soccer games, and other special personal events. Some also used it to post well wishes from family and friends. If you need help in designing pages or have any questions, please send them to mcarlos@sjbosco.org.

Helping Our Students ...
is easy! By redirecting a portion of your state tax dollars to Catholic Education Arizona, you have a direct impact on the ability of some families to attend SJB. Wouldn't you rather see your state tax dollars at work right here in our own community rather than on something you have no choice over?
Download the "1-2-3 Guide to Arizona Tax Credits" which makes "tax credit giving" easy. Inside you'll find clear explanations, simple diagrams, and answers to all your questions, like "What is a tax credit and how does it benefit me?" and "What if I already get a refund?"
Visit www.TakeTheCredit.org to download your FREE copy today.
Contact Lisa Watson if you have questions or need help getting started.

Can you help us get rid of some excess inventory? We have a few gift cards that we have paid for and need to sell. For example, we have $20 worth of Baja Fresh. All these restaurants are closed in Arizona, but they are open in California, Colorado, and a few other states. Maybe you will be traveling to these states or have family there. Other available excess inventory: $75 to use at Old Chicago or Rock Bottom Brewery, Harkins Cups - 2014.

SJB Trivia Night - 2014 Results!
The 8th Annual SJB Dads' Club Trivia Night held Saturday, January 25 was a BIG success and BIG fun...25 teams with nearly 200 Trivia-nistas competed for the coveted Trivia Traveling Trophy. First-time winners are Team "We are Going Down with a Fight" with 93/100 points, while the 2013 champions Team "Trivia Newton John" finished a strong 2nd at 91 points. Tied for 3rd at 90 points were Team "42 is the Answer" and Team "Krazy Kampers". Team "Jeffers.com" finished last at 74 points.
A special shout-out to Sam and Diane Hansen...first for volunteering, and then for using that good karma to win 3 of 5 of the 50-50 raffle and heads-or-tails contests. A BIG thank you to Dave and Barb Long, Pete and Chris Grossgold, and Ron and Gina Miller for organizing the event, which this year raised nearly $6000.

Attention Bulldogs Baseball
Baseball season is right around the corner.
Bosco ball players have the exciting opportunity to purchase custom wood bats from two different vendors. Wood bats are excellent training tools for practice, teaching better swing mechanics and where on the bat to make contact. Additionally they can save some wear and tear on regular metal/composite bats, especially during tee work. 7th grade players especially should consider a wood bat for the upcoming Bosco baseball season. In the public middle schools this is a "transitional" time. Players use bats with weights that are heavier than Little League bats, but lighter than full-sized adult bats. Unfortunately the CYAA organization requires 7th and 8th grade ball players to jump from Little League bats directly to full-sized adult bat weights. Wood bats are a way for players to still use "transitional" bats, as wood bats are allowed to be lighter weight than metal bats in CYAA. Coaches Kominski, Rubio and myself have purchased bats for our sons and would be happy to let you take a look before you decide to buy or not. Zinger Bat Company is a local bat manufacturer which has a design that includes the Bosco "SJB" logo on ash bats, a full paint job with a sky/royal blue and the engraving is the Bosco gold/yellow. Dove Tail Bat Company is out of Maine, but were sponsors of this past weekend's Desert Vista Baseball fundraiser. Their bats are offered in ash, birch and maple with a traditional "pro" design, and they stain their bats. They have worked with us to design a Bosco only bat design which incorporates "Pro" bat design and materials, but a shorter design in a transitional weight. For more information or order forms, please email me: erikwbrown@me.com In order to save time and money, all orders will be collected and submitted together. All orders with payment are due this week.
