Principal's Note
Dear SJB Families,

Congratulations to Mrs. Tina Larsen for winning the Arizona Council for American Private Education (AZCAPE) Private School Teacher of the Year!  More than 200 private school leaders were nominated for this prestigious award.  Tina has been a teacher at St. John Bosco since 2007 and has touched the lives of many, many students.  Thank you for everything you do to educate and inspire our students Mrs. Larsen!  We are so proud of you!

Congratulations also to Mrs. Dorothy Abril who was nominated for Staff Member of the Year by AZCAPE.  Miss Dorothy goes above and beyond in helping all our staff, parents and students at SJB and we appreciate everything that she does for our school.  We are truly blessed to have both of these wonderful members of our staff.

Many blessings for a thankful and joyous November.

From the Health Office

We will be conducting our annual health screenings on Tuesday, November 12 and Wednesday, November 13.  All students will be screened for height, weight, and vision.  We will also do heart rate and blood pressure screening on grades 4-8, and scoliosis checks on grades 5-8.  If you do not want your child to be screened, please notify the health office in writing by Friday, November 8.

If you would like to volunteer to help with the screenings, please call the health office at (480) 219-4849 or email us at attendance@sjbosco.org. Screening usually goes from 8am-3pm both days.  You could sign up for just a few hours or the whole day.  Morning snacks and lunch will be provided.  We like to have about a dozen volunteers each day.  It's a fun way to get some of those service hours in!

Labels for Education

SEE IT!  CLIP IT!  SAVE IT!

Save those BOX TOPS and turn them all into your teachers before Thanksgiving Break.  The grade level with the most turned in from September through November 26 will win a FREE DRESS DAY along with pretzels and lemonade with our very own, Father Bob!  So far, we have collected just under 13,000 box tops for this school year.  We are over half way there to our school goal of 20,000. Thank you so much for your continued support, along with saving, clipping and turning them in to your teachers.  Don't forget, you can also earn eBoxtops by shopping online from over 300 vendors on the Box Tops website.  I've used it several times for purchases and earned boxtops for the school.  Call me, Tammy Mlecko, with any questions you may have with this program at 602-750-7706.
