W e l c o m e   N e w   S u b s c r i b e r s !

NOTE: DUE TO SUMMER ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAM TRAVELING, THERE WILL BE NO CHAPTER DEVELOPMENT MEETINGS JUNE - AUGUST. THE NEXT MEETING WILL BE A CHAPTER RETREAT IN SEPTEMBER (WE'LL KEEP YOU POSTED)!

MEANTIME, SEE BELOW TO CONTRIBUTE IDEAS FOR A NEW VENUE TO HOST OUR MONTHLY CHAPTER MEETINGS WHILE THE EAST LIBERTY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH IS UNDER FALL CONSTRUCTION.

CALL TO ACTION - YOUTH MEETING NEEDS!

There is a lot of work that goes into hosting a CISV program and we still need your help with one task:

Someone to drive a van to/from the airport for a few hours on July 14

We require volunteers to make all of our programs possible. This is the perfect opportunity to fulfill your family's requirement of support! Email Nancy Golio with your offer to help ASAP and thank you to those already contributing. It's going to be a fabulous program!

COME JULY 9 TO OPEN DAY AT OUR
YOUTH MEETING 2 PM - 5 PM!
We've all been working hard to make this happen, so why not join in the fun? Come to The Family Resource Center in Cranberry and share a few hours with all of the international delegates participating in our Youth Meeting! Delegates are planning the event, so we are sure it is going to be insightful, challenging and fun. Plus, it is a great experience for new people who are interested in CISV. Come spend time with international students, learn more about their cultures and see how our hosting efforts impact youth from all over the world!

IDEthinking_girl_idea.jpgAS FOR NEW CHAPTER MEETING VENUE NEEDED FOR SEPTEMBER!

The East Liberty Presbyterian Church will be undergoing construction starting in September and we need to secure a new location for our Chaper Meetings for the duration of the remodel. Do you know of a central community space that will host our first-Sunday-of-the-month meetings for free? All ideas are welcome. Please email Amy Raslevich with your thoughts.

IT'S TIME TO COLLECT FOR THE SILENT AUCTION/PASTA DINNER!

colorful_gifts_set.jpg
All families with a 2016 delegate/traveler are asked to give or get one or more items for the pasta dinner silent aucion this fall -- the earlier the better. Each item submitted to Alicia Klein by 9/1/16 receives one entry to a drawing for a free night at Seven Springs.

Simply print out the ASK LETTER and approach businesses you frequent. Ask for the things on which you would like to bid. And, bring a JB-er to talk about their CISV experiences first-hand; they almost always nail the donation. The Ask Letter explains CISV and references our Tax ID number.

JB CARWASH, AUGUST 27!
It's a great annual fundraiser for our Junior Board and everyone is encouraged to participate! This Year's carwash will be held August 27, 10:30 am - 4:30 pm, at the Jiffy Lube 201 Freeport Rd, Aspinwall, PA 15215. JBers & adults sign up to scrub for peace!

SUPPORT CISV EVERY TIME YOU BUY GROCERIES OR GAS!

It's so easy and it costs you nothing. Simply order a minimum of $100 in Giant Eagle Gift Cards each month! Our treasurer will mail the cards in the first few days of each month with an invoice.couple_with_groceries.jpg

FOR EVERY $100 YOU ORDER, CISV GETS $5 - IT ADDS UP FAST - AND YOU DON'T SPEND A CENT!

Think about how much you spend each month on groceries at Giant Eagle or Market District and gas at GetGo. A family of 4 easily puts out $600 or more. That's a gift of $30 a month to CISV - a $360 contribution at the end of the year - for nothing!

Plus, as long as you scan your Giant Eagle Advantage Card® when shopping, you STILL earn fuelperks!® - you just pay with a gift card! You can even use your Giant Eagle Gift Cards to buy cards from other retailers to shop somewhere else, so you earn fuelperks! on them, too (especially great around the holidays when fuelperks! are usually doubled!) Finally, the cards are great to give teenagers that need to fill up the tank or stop and buy milk on their way home - way better than cash!

Last year, CISV raised more than $3,000 in funds from the Giant Eagle Gift Card program - let's double it - at no cost to anyone!

Sign up today or consider upping your current gift card order by $100 - remember, gift cards are good for TWO YEARS!

BON VOYAGE!

Here's wishing all of our delegates safe travels and and CISV families a fun and healthy summer. Live. Learn. Grow!

WORLD REFUGEE DAY A TRIUMPH IN MULTICULTURALISM!

Thank you to all the CISV JBers and parents who made our participation in World Refugee Day a great success, especially Elaine Hyder for organizing. On June 17, they manned a children's activity booth offering face painting, hopscotch, bubble blowing and more, and escorted refugee families to Market Square to join in the fun. It was a beautiful day with Bhutanese and Burmese refugees taking their oath of citizenship, African music, food from many cultures and an overall zeitgeist of welcoming and peace. GREAT JOB!
