Happy New Year from the Chamber Staff & Board!
2015 was a year of real change for the Solvang Chamber of Commerce.  We said goodbye to former executive director Sue Moualim, a whirlwind of energy and enthusiasm who did great work on our behalf for several years, and then welcomed Tracy Beard as our new executive director in September. She has enthusiastically embraced the job and is dedicated to making the business community stronger and more united than ever before!

The board began a strategic planning process, guided in large part by Solvang native and retired Santa Maria CEO Bob Hatch, that will be taken to the next level in the coming few months.  We've refreshed our website and emails to make them an even better resource for our members, and we organized the biggest Business and Community Expo this past spring ever!

The Chamber board and staff are working closely together along with developing a strong professional network with the City of Solvang, other tourism and chamber organizations in the Valley and County and our dedicated Solvang Third Wednesday Committee delights in organizing a dynamic calendar of programs and events on Third Wednesdays to drive business to Solvang during an otherwise quiet mid-week day.

Thank you for being a friend and member to the Chamber.  We always welcome your input as we work to create an organization that strengthens our entire community!

Here's to 2016 being a great year for all of us!

Customer Service Training for your Front Line Staff!
Our friends at Visit SYV are introducing a new program to help the Valley's front line staff learn about the "Spirit of the Santa Ynez Valley." This workshop has been designed to teach every associate in a visitor-facing role how to create the very best guest experience possible. The goal of Spirit of the Valley is to raise the level of experience for every visitor or guest, enticing them to not only return, but to tell others about the wonderful experience they had while here.

Besides being taught first class customer service, Spirit of the Valley will teach you and your staff a little about each of our 6 communities (Solvang, Buellton, Santa Ynez, Ballard, Los Olivos, Los Alamos) and you'll take home information on frequently asked questions, such as activities for kids or entertainment after 5pm.

Please join us at the Wildling Museum at 8:30 for coffee and registration. The program begins at 9am.
