Where's Dupo?
Fraudsters are sly, and when it comes to duplicate payments, there must be 50 ways to trick the system.

So in retaliation, we're hosting a contest to see who can reveal the cleverest tactic you've discovered for hiding duplicates. For example, using spaces or hyphens to get the system to accept the same invoice number for a vendor as shown in the example below:

You can organize your work by creating subfolders in your working folder. In the IDEA File Explorer window, click the file folder icon (File Management) and select Create Folder. Once you name the new folder and create it, you can drag and drop existing IDEA files into the new folder right from the IDEA File Explorer.

Tech Tips
IDEA Installation Fix

Is an IDEA instance revealing consistent odd behaviors shortly after installation? It is most likely due to a lack of account privileges during installation or stringent computer security stemming from either local/network permissions or an antivirus program. To avoid these issues, it's recommended that any form of antivirus be disabled while a full administrator performs the install. If using Windows 7, you will need to also right-click the setup.exe and specifically run as admin. However, if a faulty install is already suspected, it may not be necessary to reinstall the whole program. We have recently learned of a trick that registers all of the DLL files and other libraries of the software. All you need to do is run this command from an elevated command prompt in the IDEA folder (afterward, it would help to right click the IDEA shortcut icon and run as admin just once):

for %i in (*.dll) do RegSvr32 -s %i

*Some* of the quirks this command is likely to fix are:

  • Import assistant refusing to open
  • All file types crashing during import and creating blank or corrupted tables
  • Document printing errors
  • Pivot tables not forming
  • IDEA not opening at all
