Save the date for Mission Central's 20th Anniversary Celebration
Mark your calendar for Friday, November 18, and plan to join us at our 20th Anniversary Celebration at the Hurst Conference Center.

We're planning an evening of sharing fun memories and inspiring stories from our past 20 years. We'll also hear from Dr. Nathanial Hearne, former assistant coach of Permian High School's football team (of "Friday Night Lights" fame) and former assistant principal of L.D. Bell High School.

Individual tickets will go on sale later this summer, so watch for more information. If you or someone you know is interested in being an event sponsor, visit our website for more information.
Mission Central to Host Job and Resource Fair on May 23
Are you or someone you know currently job-hunting? Be sure to attend Mission Central's Job and Resource Fair on Monday, May 23.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Hurst at 521 West Pipeline Road. Be sure to bring resumes and dress professionally, as more than 40 local employers will be on-site to meet with potential job candidates.
Village Library students explore new careers
With STAAR testing behind them, students at the Village Library have recently had the opportunity to explore a variety of careers through a series of "Career Day" speakers.

Most of the speakers have been volunteers who work with the children regularly as tutors. For most of the year, they have focused on the students' homework when they meet each week, but as the school year ends, they are taking time to share information about their education and vocation with the entire group. Students have heard from a variety of professions including an engineer, writer, electrician, nutritionist, and others. We hope these speakers will inspire students to think about different options as they plan their future.

If you're interested in volunteering at the Village Library next fall, please contact Catherine Hollis at catherine.hollis@missioncentraltx.org or 817-595-0011. Volunteers are needed during the school year on most weekday afternoons.
