North Texas Giving Day
We hope to purchase a
box truck for the Village Pantry by the end of the year. A truck will ease the burden on volunteers who currently use their own vehicles to move about 200,000 pounds of food from grocery stores and the Tarrant Area Food Bank to the pantry each year. The truck would also allow us to increase the amount of fresh produce given out, as we would have more capacity to pick this food up from the Tarrant Area Food Bank. A truck will also help us pick up donations to the Coat of Many Colors Resale Shop. Along with the truck, we wish to purchase a small forklift.

To protect items that are coming into the Village Pantry, as well as to help keep our volunteers comfortable in inclement weather, we would like an awning for the cargo door of the Village Pantry.

The school year will start at the end of August, and we have a list of new books we would like to add to the Village Library shelves.

If you're interested in helping with the purchase of any of these items, please contact Paula Jernigan at 817-595-0011 ext. 104 or

Double your impact on North Texas Giving Day
Thanks to a generous group of donors, you have the opportunity to double your impact when you give to Mission Central on North Texas Giving Day, scheduled for September 17th.

These donors have issued a Power Challenge to our community and will match your donations on September 17th, dollar-for-dollar, up to $24,500.

North Texas Giving Day is an annual event that encourages charitable giving throughout the region. More than 2,000 non-profits participate, and each donation of at least $25 made via on that day offers chances for non-profits to earn bonus and prize funds.
