Community leaders celebrate Mission Central's new facility
On December 18th, volunteers, guests, donors, and community leaders gathered at Mission Central to celebrate the Grand Opening and Ribbon-Cutting of our new facility at 740 East Pipeline Road.

Hurst mayor Richard Ward was among the Chamber of Commerce members to provide an official welcome to Mission Central. During the event, a special plaque was unveiled to recognize the donors who generously gave to this project. With their help, we are now serving guests in a more dignified manner. In 2015, we have already had several days where we have served 60+ families, and we are relieved to have a lobby that will comfortably seat our guests, a private space to interview them, and a pantry that is big enough to hold plenty of healthy food to share with them.
Souper Bowl of Caring kicks off in local grocery stores
From now until the Super Bowl on February 1st, many local grocery stores will be offering bags of shelf-stable foods marked "Souper Bowl of Caring." Shoppers who purchase these bags will leave them in a bin at the front of the store and the food will then be donated to the Tarrant Area Food Bank or a local food pantry. Most bags are less than $5 and are a great way to help those in need in your community.

Shoppers who visit the Kroger store at Pipeline and Bellaire in Hurst have the opportunity to directly support Mission Central's Village Pantry with their purchases. Bags sold at that store will be picked up by Mission Central's volunteers and brought to the Village Pantry for distribution. It's quite likely that the food you buy one day could be on the dinner table of one of your hungry neighbors by the end of the week.  The Souper Bowl of Caring allows you to make an immediate impact in the fight against hunger.
