LOCAL AUTHOR: JEANNE MATTHEWS
Born in Georgia, writing mystery thrillers set in exotic locations such as Australia, Hawaii and Norway and living in RENTON, WASHINGTON, this local author packs a punch. The Rest of the Story...
Recently we received a thoughtful email from a bookstore owner asking the question: are used bookstores still a good business to be in? It's easy to buy books on-line, more eBooks are being published, eReaders are more affordable and rent on retail space is increasing. And we have seen frequent evidence of used bookstores closing in King County alone.
We know all of these points are true. And yet, and yet...what we see is that...
YOU continue to support us. You buy books from us, bring us books to sell and tell other people about us. Karen and I have enjoyed serving you for over 11 years and we continue to be so grateful to you for this three-legged stool of support that keeps us successful.
We know that some of you have changed your reading habits. We don't see you as often, or in some cases, not at all. We know you are still supporting us, though, because you CONTINUE TO TELL OTHERS about us! Thank you! And please stop by to say hello whenever you can.
Many of you know that we donate books to non-profit fundraisers. We recently received the most delightful news. One of our local Boy Scout troops raised enough money through their auction that they are sending ALL of their members to Camp Parsons this summer. Congratulations! We are so happy to be part of your success.
