Martyrdom of Sahibzadas Ajit Singh and Jujhar Singh
After leaving Anandpur on the night of December 6, 1705, crossing the flooded Sarsa rivulet, and resting at Kot Nihang Khan, for a few hours, Guru Gobind Singh reached Chamkaur. He was accompanied by not more than 40 Singhs, including two of his older sons, and the five panj piyare, the original "Beloved Five". Their arms were mostly swords and spears, as their ammunition had exhausted during the eight-month defense of the besieged Anandpur.  Read entire article
World Travelers
Jiwan Shakti Kaur traveled with her daughter Siri Atma Kaur to visit Saribjot Kaur at the MPA in India this month.  It appears from her Facebook posts that the kids got a big treat from Jiwan who made them a delicious looking tray of pumpkin pie.
Also on the world scene is Hari Charn Kaur who has been in China and writes;
"This lovely Kwan Yin graces my days at the temple where I have been working for the past three weeks. I am learning so much from the students and teachers here. I also have felt so much gratitude for all of my sisters and friends around the globe. What a blessing to have a worldwide family. Here in China the translation is such a big need. And the work that all of the trainers are doing here is wonderful. Tomorrow I fly South to Fouzou for another experience. I will be at the Wahe Guru Ashram working with Seva Kaur and Angad and their team."

Finding Peace and Grace Where We Are

By Himat Kaur

Jupiter Trine Saturn

Jupiter and Saturn come into conjunction (appear to be aligned together) every 20 years, ushering in a new cycle in which we explore themes of expansion, largesse and an unimpeded "Yes," in relation to contraction, responsibility, and the ability to see the need for "No" and to say it. This cycle also relates to our paradigm of life and our sense of how we can fit into it (Jupiter), coming together with Saturn to actually get out there in society and making that envisioned place for ourselves, hopefully in a way that reflects who we are and what we truly have to offer that is of value.  Read entire article >

Life with Yogi Bhajan - Tantric Course
By Hari Jiwan Singh

I stopped by the White Tantric course at lunchtime yesterday. I was shocked, but in a good way. The hall was packed with mostly new students that I've never seen before. They came from near and far to do this White Tantric yoga.

I began to talk with a couple from Minnesota. I asked what they expected from this course. They really had no answer. They didn't know what to expect. Their only comment was that the course was easier than expected. I said, "Yes, this is an easy one and a good beginning.  Come to Solstice and you'll get what you expect."  Read entire article >

                Thanksgiving at HGRD
It started out as a beautifully decorated langar hall by Kartika Kaur and her team and was transformed into a huge happy gathering of ashram members, friends and family. The food was yummy with the help of Matamandir Singh and family and all the many dishes made by ashram members. Gratefulness was in the air and highlighted by the Thanksgiving Prayer read before the meal. Read it here >
Computer Corner - Cutting the Cord (continued)
By Guruka Singh

Sat Nam! My September 2013 Computer Corner Column  was devoted to "cutting the cord," i.e. getting your TV and movies online rather than using a satellite receiver or a cable connection. Lots of Sangat members are trying to cut costs these days and hooking your TV up to a computer is a great way to do that. No cable or satellite bills to pay! Some of you who borrow movies from me know that I stopped keeping them on optical discs (DVD and Blu-ray) a few months ago, so, while I still loan out discs, all the new stuff is only digital. You'll need to bring over a portable hard drive or large USB drive if you want to get those from me. Lots of Sangat members have come up to me to talek about how to hook their particular computer up to their TV. As I mentioned in my September column, I use a dedicated "Media PC" which is only used for TV viewing, but there are other ways to do it without having cables dangling all over your living room.
