Computer Corner - Oh no! I just got a new computer with Windows 8 & I hate it!

By Guruka Singh Khalsa

Yep. I feel the same way.  In my opinion, Microsoft's decision to eliminate the traditional Windows Start menu in Windows 8 was fatally flawed. It may work okay for a tablet or a phone (I use Apple tablets and phones) but it pretty much sucks for desktop use. It is not designed for mouse and keyboard. It's a touch interface, pure and simple. Siri Singh Sahib Yogi Bhajan quote: "I have survived with a very simple technique. Love something which is for real. So, I saw a man - Guru Ram Das. I made him my God, my Guru, my guidance, and my guardian. I live in His Name. I serve His Name. I do everything. Because you know why? I don't want to let him down. Why? Because he has never let me down" from Sat Nirmal Kaur's notes

Dr. Vandana Shiva, at a Reception Dinner hosted by Ashram members
Here is my best effort to share with you the authentic heart of the recent local Sustainability Conference, where Dr. Vandana Shiva, PhD was a keynote speaker and illustrious presenter. Since I was fortunate enough to attend the conference, I have said numerous times that this was probably the best conference I've ever attended.

Evolutionary Astrology, November, 2013 - Dredging the Darkness, Cultivating Light
By Himat Kaur

As we begin the month of November, we are in the midst of Mercury's retrograde passage in Scorpio, and we start the month with the fourth of seven Uranus-Pluto squares (between June 2012 and March 2015). Both of these factors (which I wrote about in my October article) are very present and penetrating in our lives and as a backdrop to anything else going on. Many planets come into combined influence this month, and it is a month of potentially very deep impact. Read Entire Article
