DeCarlo Studios Rebuilds Web Site for Hopewell House for Independent Living in Fairfax, VA
DeCarlo Studios recently rebuilt a web site for Hopewell House for Independent Living of Fairfax, Virginia. Our client loved the look of their existing site, but wanted to be able to make their own minor edits and add a few new features. Our client also wanted the ability to boost their SEO and add new content and updates on their own. We recreated their existing site in Joomla and it looks fantastic! Same look of their old site, but now with more flexibility and freedom.
It is the primary goal of Hopewell House to offer a home and community to those who because of mental illness have found it difficult to find inclusion in society. Residents will live with others of similar levels of mental disability. Behavioral Coaches will help maintain a home environment and provide supports for activities that enable them to reach and work on their potential to live independently in the local neighborhood and community. |
5 Tips to Prepare for the Holidays Now
It may seem early, but right now is the perfect time to start planning and preparing for the holidays. With a little advance work, the month of December will be less stressful and overwhelming.
How Can You Prepare Now?
- Get a Jump-Start on Your Client Christmas Cards: Show appreciation to all of your clients who supported your business this past year. Get your client or personal holiday card and gift list together. Purchase cards and start to address the envelopes. You may even be able to get a discount on cards by pre-ordering early. Begin to personalize with a hand-written message. With a little planning, you can have your cards or gifts completed early. Here's an article with some Tips on How to Write Business Holiday Cards.
- Start Scheduling Days on Your Calendar: Try to block out a few days now to set aside time for some of the things that you do every year. Cross-reference them with school, business and family plans. And don't forget to plan a little down-time for yourself!
- Think About Ways That You Can Volunteer: Research ways that you can volunteer for the upcoming holiday season. Some may require more time, some may be a financial offering. If you plan early, there's many ways to fit in time to help others into your schedule.
- Bake and Freeze Cookies in Advance: If you like to bake for the holidays for clients, family and friends, try doing one recipe a week and freezing them. By December, you will have a head start on your baking and feel less overwhelmed.
- Update Your Web Site: Many businesses are likely to see an increase in visitors during the holiday season. Make sure your web site is fresh and up to date with lots of new and valuable information for them.
