Here it is! The anxiously awaited, monthly newsletter from Thimble Pleasures!
Alas, Diane is out breaking in that new hip while doing laps around her neighborhood so you'll have to wait for her return, as do we at the store. It's just not the same without her.
The Sit 'n' Sew event with the BERNINA 7-series was a hit! Now there are several excited new owners of these great machines! If you haven't experienced how wonderful they are, just stop in. We are always happy to have a reason to show them off.
Connie Walker presented our first Saturday Showcase this past weekend. Wow! We had no idea what a hit it would be. This is a must-do event. Right now they are scheduled quarterly. I know we all look forward to what Connie has in store for us next time.
I don't know about you, but this crazy, wet Spring is making me want to turn out some bright and fun quilts and bags! Sudi-Laura just made a fabulous and speedy quilt with the new collection, "Glimma", by Lotta Jansdotter. Kat hung it above the calendar, so you can't miss it.
Also, have you ever thought about making cloth napkins? It's a fun and quick way to bring color into your house. Use the rolled hem on the serger to whip them up quickly or sew them with your sewing machine. Ask for a demonstration on how fast you can liven up your dining table or present them as a hostess gift.
But as wet and cool as this Spring has been, Summer will be upon us and we will be in the air conditioning, sewing up a storm. Here at Thimble Pleasures, Summer brings new classes as well as the sewing camps for kids. We really enjoy watching the newest little crafters get started!
We have a fun Trunk Show and Book Signing with Rayna Gillman, author of create your own free-form quilts, coming June 24th! Thank you, Karen, for bringing us new and interesting speakers and teachers. See below for more info.
How many of you have heard of Hoopsisters? This company provides fun and creative patterns to create quilts with our embroidery machines. The new mystery quilt is getting started in June. Stop by and see some of the quilts created with Hoopsisters designs.
