Hardeeville, SC- March 18, 2013:  The US Fish & Wildlife Service Coastal Refuges Complex has announced that Pinckney Island NWR will be closed to the public all day on Tuesday, March 19th, 2013.  The closing is to allow a number of dead trees around the entrance and parking areas to be taken down by the Complex's wildland fire crew.  Sorry for any inconvenience, but the trees represent a safety hazard to refuge visitors and must come down.

Pinckney Island NWR will reopen as usual on Wednesday the 20th.
