Meet FOFA'S Esteemed Friend and Spirited Supporter Carlos Manuel Sada Solana
Consul General of Mexico in New York
FOFA is blessed to have found an esteemed friend and spirited supporter in Carlos Manuel Sada Solana, Consul General of Mexico in New York since 2011. Consul Sada is a native of Oaxaca who has deep respect for its culture, including its folk art traditions. He is down-to-earth and completely approachable, while also highly educated as well as passionate about strengthening relationships with his native country and enhancing appreciation of its values and cultural treasures. He travels in the most prestigious circles, while relating equally well to people of far more humble origins and delighting in the beauty and whimsy of folk art. He lives in New York City with his wife and two sons.

Consul Sada - in close collaboration with Lic. Maria Elena Cabezut Villarreal, Director of the Mexican Cultural Institute of New York -- expresses profound respect and generous support for our projects, e.g., the catalogue commemorating FOFA's second young artists' competition. He traveled to Oaxaca to be a crucial participant in its awards ceremony in August, 2011. Not only did Consul Sada draw special attention to this event -- memorialized on the front page of the local newspaper - but also secured cash prizes for the winners in addition to FOFA's scholarship grants. Consul Sada attends each and every FOFA event, enthusiastically endorsing our efforts with his sparkling smile, warmth, and trenchant comments.
