The Tube Blaster offers a fast & exhilarating experience for both single & double tube riders and Thunder Rapids is the perfect place to slide with a group of friends. This ought get you reading the newsletter each week!

At the March Board meeting last week, the Board moved to solve the problem of those members who do not show up or provide a substitute for their cashier duties. Henceforth if you do not show or have a sub, you will be resposible for the lunch fee for the volunteer who steps up and fills in for you.  Hopefully we will not have the continuing problem of no-shows.  It is only less than twice a year, so please be responsible.

Chelan High School Senior Presentations

As a Rotarian being willing to volunteer comes with the territory,  Chelan High School Principal Barry DePaoli is looking for volunteers to help listen to the 2016 Senior Presentations.

Each graduating senior is required to make a Senior Presentation on a subject of their choice.  Presentations last approximately 15 minutes. After their speech, that can include both video and PowerPoint slides, they must be prepared to answer questions.  Each presentation is required to include an introduction, an explanation of their senior project, the research done and a conclusion.

This is a great opportunity to listen to some amazing presentations and appreciate the talents that CHS graduating seniors have.  If you are interested in this opportunity, please call Mr. DePaoli at Chelan High School at telephone number 682-4061.

2016 Lake Chelan Rotary Scholarships
Due Date:  April 15, 2015

Are you a dedicated student? Have you overcome considerable obstacles? Is the cost of going to college a financial strain on your family? No matter what your talents, abilities, or circumstances, Lake Chelan Rotary wants to help.

Lake Chelan Rotary supports scholarships through the Lake Chelan Rotary Community & International Fund ("The Fund").  "The Fund's" scholarships are given to Chelan and Manson High School seniors pursuing their dreams and goals at colleges, universities, and trade or technical schools. These scholarships are made possible through the fundraising efforts of Lake Chelan Rotary and generous donors who have a passion to provide higher education opportunities to worthy students.  Click here:

In 2014, the "The Fund" awarded $22,000 to students in Chelan and Manson High Schools.
Application Review

Every application is reviewed by members of "The Fund's" volunteer Scholarship Selection Committee. The application is reviewed first for eligibility as Lake Chelan Rotary must adhere to the specific eligibility criteria established by scholarship fund donors.  After review, scholarship applications are evaluated on an objective and competitive basis, considering academic and nonacademic factors such as financial need, leadership, community service, and special circumstances.
