|Lake Michigan Water Project Update|
You are receiving this notice because of your interest in the Lake Michigan Water Project, or your past attendance at one of the Open House meetings regarding this project.
On June 5 at 8:30 a.m., the Lake County Public Works and Transportation Committee will be considering an ordinance proposing the formation of a Special Service Area (SSA) to fund the $46 million project to bring Lake Michigan water supply to the parcels within the SSA. If approved by this committee, the ordinance will be forwarded to the County Board for final consideration at its 9 a.m. meeting on June 11. Both meetings are held on the 10th floor of the County Building (18 N. County Street, Waukegan).
The proposing ordinance establishes a public hearing to be held on Tuesday, August 13 starting at 6 p.m. at the Lehmann Mansion 485 N. Milwaukee Ave., Lake Villa, for the Lake Michigan Water Project in order to receive public comment on formation of this SSA.
The public hearing will allow residents within the affected area the opportunity to make any comments about the formation of the SSA and the water project.
If the proposing ordinance is approved thereby setting the public hearing date, you will receive a formal notice in the mail toward the end of July. It will contain the public hearing details. Should you have questions regarding this process, please contact Heather Galan of Lake County Public Works at 874-377-7500.
