Now Internet of Things applications can securely communicate directly with programmable automation controllers
Secure access to PAC control variable and I/O data
As 'The Internet of Things' becomes more and more prevalent in industries all across the world, getting valuable data out of your process has never been more important. Traditionally, PLCs and control systems have been pretty 'closed loop' with proprietary languages being the backbone of communications. With Opto 22's latest firmware release (v. 9.5a), all PAC controllers now come with both an HTTP/HTTPS server and a RESTful API. This enables users to access information, both variable and I/O data, directly from the PAC controller. No need for middleware anymore. Read or write data with the PAC using your favorite programming language - C, C++, C#, Java, PHP, Python, and many more.
