GSX Series with integral force measuring sensor 

Exlar has eliminated the need for an external load cell for precise force measurement by offering GSX Series electro-mechanical linear actuators with an integral force measuring option. 

A load cell is embedded within the actuator allowing it to directly measure the force being applied by the actuator's output rod. The strain gauge load sensor used to measure applied force is mounted inside the actuator's case, protecting it from external damage and guaranteeing accurate and consistent force data.

This offers a direct method for obtaining electronic data of the force being applied by the actuator. The load cell is a strain gauge type, offering stable and accurate load sensing (+/- 0.5% repeatability and hysteresis) in compression or tension to measure applied force change from cycle to cycle.
