The beautiful Hammond House in Kingsport's Historic Boatyard District will be open for the very first time to the general public at Christmas, this coming Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015, from 2-4 PM. The house will be decorated with greenery, garland and other garden amusements. Guests will enjoy a variety of sweet breads, cakes, Devonshire cream and other refreshments in keeping with the era. A wide array of Christmas music will be provided by John and Joy Mullen. As a special attraction, Lamplight Theatre actors in period costume will provide additional entertainment. Guests will also enjoy learning about Victorian Christmas customs. Admission is free, and donations will be kindly accepted.
