NEW THIS WEEK AT THE ARCHIVES!

With a special thank you to Mary F. Carter of Kingsport, TN, the Sullivan County Department of Archives and Tourism received some wonderful additions to the Mary F. Carter Collection this week.

 

The additions include a massive collection of books, family records and photographs on families in the East TN and Southwest VA region. Some of the surnames include, but are not limited to: Shoemaker, Bradshaw, Hicks, Pyle, Shipley, Yoakley, Dulaney, Royston, Stokes, Chase, McDavid, Moore, Bolton, Pence, Davidson, Devault, Lark, Horne, Pickens, Brown, Carter, Vicars, Droke, Elsea, Copas, Beeler, Click, Folkner, Lady, Bowen, Wallen, Freeman, Nunley, Coleman, Barnes, Darnell, Mullins, Depew, Crigger, Johnson, McCollum, Snodgrass, Poe, Bragg, Slaughter, Vicars, Hodges, Holt, Isley, Cox, Flanary, Gray, Snapp, Harr, Bowlin, Marshall, Hawk, Lane, Penley, Pierson, Neeley, Wolfe, Durham, Bailey, Carmack, Bishop, Wright, Egan, Light, Lane, Gott, Moody, Corder, Ketron, Edwards, Laughlin, Osborne, Mendenhall, Fisher, Collins, Bailey, Bowery, Colbaugh, Elliott, Bledsoe, Cleek and hundreds of others.
