"Turning the Tide: The Union Cavlary in the Tullahoma Campaign", will be presented by historian Gregory Biggs at 7 PM on Mon., Sept. 9, 2013 at Kingsport, TN. The event will be held in Room 219 of the Eastman Employee Center.
Prior to the cavalry engagement fought at Shelbyville on 27 June 1863, as part of Union Gen. William S. Rosecrans Tullahoma Campaign, Confederate cavalry had dominated their Union counterparts. Change came at Shelbyville, and Union cavalry in the West began to dominate the Confederates for the rest of the war.
