2015 - A New Outlook for a New Year

It's 2015 and that means another year filled with promise and opportunities for GALT and its members! GALT's new year has already brought our first call to action - 6 greyhounds rescued from terrible conditions and in need of extensive medical treatment. You can read more about them in the Incoming Dogs section. Please donate towards their care if you can.

2014 was another remarkable year for GALT. 149 greyhounds joined the GALT family and that included 17 puppies under one year of age (a record for GALT). The year brought us 69 from breeders/farms/kennels, 4 cruelty seizures, 16 owner surrenders, 21 owner returns, 4 from shelters, 6 from another adoption group and 27 strays. GALT volunteers lovingly delivered 126 hounds to their forever homes and sadly said good-bye to 4 of those in our care.

GALT volunteers stepped up once again and spent countless hours hosting events, bathing and walking dogs, wrapping gifts, attending yappy hours, and driving thousands of miles - all to help the GALT greyhounds. They tirelessly participated in various community events as a means to raise funds, showcase our hounds and educate the public about what wonderful companions they make. GALT supporters far and wide named puppies, played golf, participated generously in countless fundraisers, bid in our online auction and donated time, energy and their hard-earned money to make all of this possible.

And so, we face 2015 with optimism, passion and a renewed commitment to GALT's "no grey turned away"™ philosophy. GALT members, volunteers, donors, sponsors and supporters make this all possible. It is with the utmost sincerity and from the heart that we say "thank you" for everything that you do. We sincerely hope that you will take the journey into the new year with us! Welcome 2015!!
