Marian, aka Maid Marian, is a black female who is approximately 3 years old. She was picked up as a stray by Fort Worth Animal Care & Control. From there, she was released into the GALT family. She is not tattooed. When she arrived, she tested positive to the tick-borne disease Ehrlichia, but she has now completed her treatment and received a negative PCR test. Marian is ready to start her forever home search! Marian tested intolerant of cats at this time.

Little Maid Marian is a very petite, shiny black girl with attitude. Maybe she needed to develop some survival skills while out on her own; when I first got her it was hard for her to accept love. She may never have experienced a loving home before. With patience and lots of encouragement she has become a wonderful little girl. She will now come looking for me and asking for affection. There are times when she still seems to be wary but that's to be expected. She has come a very long way in a relatively short time.

Originally she would refuse all treats, eventually she started taking them from me but dropping them until I left the room, then she'd go back for them. Now she will take a treat and eat it right in front of me. She learned the dog door instantly, and never had an accident in the house.

She has decided that the chaise lounge belongs to her (she noticed my big alpha female greyhound on it one day, so now they take turns.) Marian LOVES her stuffies and will carry them from room to room.

Marian would do best in a greyhound-savvy home with no small children to startle her. Another male or female would be fine as long as they are able to give her some space, especially when sleeping.
