There's a full moon out tonight. Mooney, aka Moon Would, is a 2½-year-old red fawn male born February 2, 2012. His sire is Kiowa Mon Manny and his dam is Corda Would. Mooney was not interested in racing and has no races on record at Greyhound-data.com. He is a little reserved at first, but warms up quickly. Mooney has passed a cat test and is living in a foster home with cats.

I've had Mooney about a month and just in the past week has he finally decided to let me know what he is all about. Mooney is a shy boy; not afraid or fearful, but shy. He would run if I approached him and then would just freeze. He still doesn't like to be approached quickly but he has become quite animated. He will take treats out of my hand and he loves breakfast, dinner and time outside. I took him to a practice meet and greet last weekend and he did great. I bought him a new toy and he loves it. He knows it's his and ignores all the other toys. He runs outside and immediately grabs it, throws it up in the air and catches it.....over and over and over. He is very playful with my two greyhounds. He runs very fast and races with the others. He has impeccable house manners and sleeps on his bed in my bedroom. He has never attempted to get on any furniture. He doesn't like the cats - in a good way - he will not cross their path. He will patiently wait until they have moved if they are in his way. In the event of an unexpected cat encounter, Mooney simply walks away. He is a sweetheart and with him being shy, would probably do best with at least one canine companion.

FOSTER PLEA - GREYS IN BOARDING

Christmas is fast approaching, and that means once again we have fewer boarding spots available to us, But that doesn't mean we're getting in fewer greyhounds - we have received seven new dogs just in the past week! Please help out with fostering if you can, either as a regular foster or as a temporary foster over the holidays.
We need to move as many dogs out of boarding as possible from 12/22 to 1/3.

If you have been considering fostering, or know someone who is considering fostering, now would be a great time to jump in! If anyone can help, even temporarily, please contact Jennifer Vilches at jennifer@vilches.org
