Now that September is upon us, we'd like to remind you that this is a great month to help GALT because we've received a matching gift from an anonymous donor, so any donations made to Strut Your Mutt and North Texas Giving Day will go twice as far! If you've ever thought about giving, please do it for one or both of these events. We've taken in so many dogs recently that require medical attention and every dollar counts as two! This is the best opportunity ever!

STRUT YOUR MUTT
 Check out all the people participating in Strut Your Mutt this year! You'll probably find at least one you know. They will be strutting to raise money for GALT hounds, and you can join them either by donating or strutting too! The best part is that you can strut anywhere - in your neighborhood, at the gym or even by just kicking back on your couch if that is your preferred style. You don't need a greyhound to strut; you don't even need a dog! The Central Texas GALT representatives will be stepping out this year in Austin on September 13th in the Best Friends Strut Your Mutt Walk and need our support. If you're interested in participating in the actual walk in Austin, please contact us for more details. Of course, we can be with them in spirit, Register for our team to raise funds or donate to one of our existing team members here. Your donation is tax-deductible and all the money raised will go to help GALT's greyhounds. Together, we can live up to our standard of "No Grey Turned Away!" All donations will be matched by a recent anonymous donor, so hurry and help!

NORTH TEXAS GIVING DAY
There's a little something coming up called North Texas Giving Day, and it's happening on Thursday, September 18th. Donate on this date and help support GALT's greyhounds. VERIZON GRANT
 GALT was recently the recipient of a generous grant from the Verizon Foundation! This was made possible by GALT member, Wendy Roberts, and is a component of the Foundation's Verizon Volunteers Program. The Verizon Foundation affords its employees the opportunity to earn grant funding for organizations where they volunteer 50 or more hours in the calendar year. Wendy and her greyhound Bones (pictured) put forth the effort by making and donating items for several GALT auctions and raffles. We want to thank Wendy for her efforts for GALT greys.
