GALT had just received an anonymous commitment for a matching donation for September events - STRUT YOUR MUTT and NORTH TEXAS GIVING DAY!
This comes at a time when funds are desperately needed for the broken legs and injuries, strays and shelter greys just received within the last 2 months. It could be described as a Greyhound Soap Opera! Within 60 days GALT has received:
5 stray greys - Clara, Hydro, Tulip, Blossom and Jaxson
4 shelter greys (one broken leg) - Sunshine, Darcy, Ajax and Skywalker
6 farm/breeder greys - Beauty, India, Anna, Breeze, Brooklyn and Stella
5 injured at Gulf Greyhound Park - Asp, Kora, Vic, Sails and Travis
9 hoarded greys - Levi, Tyrion, Riddick, Petey, Heluka, Medley, Valentino, Christy Ellin and Countess Aliesha
Whew! That is 29 greyhounds! And over half needed medical care immediately before going on to a foster home.
Since 2014 began, we have take in
13 strays
5 shelter dogs
36 breeder/farm dogs
7 Gulf Greyhound Park injuries/fractures
20 owner surrenders
8 from other adoption groups
That's 89 dogs this year!

It's that time of year again - when we strut our stuff for the GALT greyhounds. The best part is that you can strut anywhere - in your neighborhood, at the gym or even by just kicking back on your couch if that is your preferred style. You don't need a greyhound to strut; you don't even need a dog! The Central Texas GALT representatives will be stepping out this year in Austin on September 13th in the Best Friends Strut Your Mutt Walk and need our 
The third annual event that everyone can attend with ease! This event is all about what greyhounds do best - being couch potatoes extraordinaire.
