What a Dish! Dish, aka Bob's Dish, is a 3½-year-old black female born June 1, 2010. Her sire is Rythmless and her dam is Bob's Diva. Dish has 90 races on record at greyhound-data.com, all at Gulf Greyhound Park. She started her career on March 4, 2012 and her last race was on October 18, 2013. She retired to come to GALT upon sustaining a compound toe fracture on December 11. The toe, on her left rear paw, had to be amputated. Dish's foot is all  healed and this sweet girl is ready to find her forever home! Dish is not cat trainable.

Dish is a very sweet girl who loves to play with stuffies in the back yard and also inside. She has never had an "accident" in the house and will come and get me to let me know she wants out.  She enjoys sleeping by herself in my den area at night. She likes her own sleeping space.  I put her in an x-pen to feed her only because she is a bit of a vacuum cleaner and would readily eat out of everyone else's bowl if I did not control her food intake. She is very food motivated! She likes belly rubs and sleeps well through the night. She will eagerly give you kisses and is very friendly.  I do not crate her when I am gone, as she has never chewed on anything that she is not supposed to. She knows where the doggie toy box is located and usually by the end of the day all of the toys are scattered throughout the house. She gets along well with my other greyhounds, which usually number anywhere from 5 to 8 depending on the number of foster sisters and brothers she has. She was on injured reserve recovering from a toe amputation from a racing injury, but she is totally healed and you would never know that she is missing a toe.  Please consider giving this sweet girl a forever home! She will be glad to give you added affection and an abundant supply of kisses!

GREYHOUNDS IN THE COUNTRY

Come out and treat your hounds to a fun-filled playdate on Saturday, May 17, 2014, from 3:30 to 6:30 pm at the Sanger Country home of Barb and Andy Berner, less than 50 miles north of Dallas on I-35N.

(Rain date is Saturday, June 7 if needed.)

This event is limited to no more than 40 greyhounds, so get your spot reserved NOW! This is a wonderful opportunity to allow your muzzled greyhound to run free on TWO acres of fenced-in countryside! You are responsible for bringing a muzzle for your greyhound, as well as picking up after them and monitoring their behavior at the event. There will be home baked treats for your greyhound!

A bake sale will be conducted to benefit GALT's greyhounds! We will also be collecting collars, leashes and coats for the Galgos.

This is a really fun event that you WILL NOT WANT TO MISS!
