Have you met little Dewey yet? Dewey is a young fawn male who was picked up as a stray by the Midwest City, OK shelter. He came to GALT from there just in the nick
 of time, as he was scheduled to be euthanized the next day. He is estimated to be 9 months old and is not tattooed. His DNA results show that he's a Greyhound/ Retriever/German Shepherd mix. Dewey's cat test was inconclusive - like the puppy he is, he wanted to play rough, and the cats didn't appreciate it. He does do well with small dogs.
Dewey is a delightful 10 month old greyhound mix. He is a cheerful fellow, and has certainly never met a stranger. He is fond of car rides, chasing balls, and snoozing in the sun. He is learning the basic commands of sit, shake, down and go to bed. He is fully potty trained, and will go into his crate easily. He will do anything for a cookie. Dewey enjoys being around all people, and loves other dogs of all sizes. He has not been around small children yet.

Pedal for Paws

Join us for our 2nd annual Pedal for Paws event! A mountain bike challenge benefiting GALT. Prizes will be awarded for fastest lap and most laps completed. Greyhound walk for those who don't bike! All skill levels welcome. Pedal for Paws

Pictures are from 1-5pm on weekends and appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are accepted! We will have 2 Santas: Santa Charles will be there the first 2 weekends and Santa Lin will be there the last weekend. Come on out, shop, bring your hounds, and have fun! The Holiday Party will be on December 1st from 1-5pm. |

HAPPY HOUNDS, HAPPY HOMES - NATE
 Nate has been doing wonderfully in his new home. We are coming up on our first year with this big love, and he's done more than just settle in with us. About a month ago, Nate passed his AKC Canine Good Citizen Test after an enjoyable and rewarding 14 weeks of training with other dogs and their owners. The first 7 weeks was an all-greyhound class, and it was great to see him holding his own. After that, we prepped for the test with other breeds. All along he was poised and relaxed.
After passing his CGC, we contacted Therapy Dogs, Inc., and Nate has already passed his behavioral exam on his way to being a therapy dog. Three "observed visits" are still required before we can start taking him on our own, but we're confident he'll pass with flying colors. Everything we've tried he's passed on his first attempt, and we're so proud of him.
We look forward to a lifetime of bringing canine warmth and joy to those in need of a smile.
