Meet Dallas, aka Slatex Dallas. She is a beautiful 2 1/2 year old black female who joined the GALT family on August 16, 2013, with a compound central tarsal bone fracture and additional tarsal bones broken in the same  area. Dr. Bob Radasch of the Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center performed two surgeries on Dallas two days apart, and her injury is considered to be severe. Her surgery costs at this time are over $3000.00. She is receiving weekly bandage changes, and is being monitored and kept very quiet in her foster home. One of her siblings, Slatex Abilene - a big black male - is arriving into the GALT family next week from Gulf Greyhound Park.
Coincidentally, Dallas and Abilene's sister, Slatex Slaton, was the winner of The 2013 Diane Whiteley $50,000 TGA Sprint Championship held on June 16, 2013, at Gulf Greyhound Park. Diane Whiteley was the late Texas Greyhound Association Executive Director who died in 2012. She was a dear friend to GALT's greyhounds.
The special medical treatment cost needed by Dallas is why the Miss Mesa Fund was established. If you would like to help with Dallas's care, please take a moment to make a donation to the fund. GALT'S GREYT GOLF TOURNAMENT
CALLING ALL GOLFERS! Come join Brady Tinker, host of DFW Sports Beat on KTXD-TV, and Mark Followill, the play by play TV announcer for the Dallas Mavericks, as they play GREYT GOLF! Do you play golf? Do you know someone who does? Perhaps your friend, relative, or co-worker does. Forward this eNews to them and see if they'd like to participate in GALT's first ever Greyt Golf Fundraiser Tournament! Individual players or teams of 4 are welcome, so don't wait! Everybody knows somebody who golfs - get them involved! Or, for entertainment's sake, form a team of amateurs and make it interesting - who knows? Maybe someone will go pro!

GALT's Bully and Nelson led the pack in fundraising for the GALT greys in Strut Your Mutt Austin a couple of weeks ago! Please consider supporting these handsome boys or other GALT Dog Pack members in their efforts to help GALT hounds looking for their forever homes. Espressa is a 16-month-old black female born May 15, 2012. She was not individually registered with the NGA, but her sire is Super Lee and her dam is CTW Marguerite. She was at a schooling farm, but has not raced. She joined GALT when her owner could not pay the boarding fees at the farm. Espressa, Latte and Mocha are littermates.
