This week we are featuring a Timmers update. You may remember a few weeks ago we told you about this sweet pup. Timmers, aka Tiny Tim, arrived at GALT via Paws of Paradise Orphanage. Timmers, came to GALT with a previously broken leg that had been x-rayed by Dr. Jeff Ellis of VCA Preston Park Animal Hospital. His injury was old, most likely when was a very, very young puppy. He was referred to Dr. Bob Radasch of the Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center for further evaluation and had surgery earlier this month. A full circular external fixator with four rings, constructed and designed by Dr. Radasch, was implanted and an estimated 4-5 day stay was implemented to make sure it could be adjusted and he could be observed. Because of the complexity of Timmers' surgery, his stay at DVSC was 12 days, not the original 4 or 5. The custom designed external fixator device was adjusted twice a day until it was at the desired placement position for healing. Timmers' estimated cost of surgery is in excess of $4500 at this time. Timmers is being kept very, very quiet in his foster home (no small feat for a young pup!) Please, please help with Timmers' surgery cost!
The special medical treatment cost needed by Timmers is why the Miss Mesa Fund was established. If you would like to help with Timmers's care, please take a moment to make a donation to the fund. You can use a credit card, check or PayPal by making the donation through the GALT GreytStore. You can also write a check (Greyhound Adoption League of Texas, 3400 Carlisle St, #310, Dallas, TX 75204) and note Miss Mesa Fund/Timmers on your check.
