Do you play golf? Do you know someone who does? Perhaps your friend, relative, or co-worker does. Forward this eNews to them and see if they'd like to participate in GALT's first ever Greyt Golf Fundraiser Tournament! Teams of 4 are being formed, so don't wait! Everybody knows somebody who golfs - get them involved! Or, for entertainment's sake, form a team of amateurs and make it interesting - who knows? Maybe someone will go pro!

                                                           More Info

Tuesday, September 24

Canyon Creek Country Club

Start Time: 10:00am

The format is shotgun start and a four player shamble. Everyone uses the team's best drive, then plays their own ball. Team uses score of the best player on that hole. The event includes lunch, range balls, greens fee, cart fee, contests, dinner, t-shirt, goodie bag, team photos, raffle tickets, and more! Prizes will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place - two flights. Longest drive, hole-in-one, closest to the pin and many more prizes will be awarded as well.

Still not sure? Help elsewhere:

  • playing in the shamble can be the most exciting way to help - no you don't need a single digit handicap to have a great time or win a prize. Donation for an individual player is $125, a team of four is $500.
  • volunteering the day of the shamble is great fun for those that chose not to play
  • becoming a sponsor
  • making a direct cash donation
  • making a donation for the raffle and/or auction
  • contact your family, friends and co-workers who might want to participate or be a sponsor.
Help make GALT's first Greyt Golf Tournament a success!

calendars While the deadline has passed for photo submissions for the GALT 2014 calendar, we are still accepting Calendar Sponsors until September 1st. This is your chance to make your greyhound infamous! So pull out those pictures of runaway tongues, bad costumes, and yakking in the yard and send them to Melody with "Sponsor" in the subject line. Then, go buy the sponsorship online and pick out your month (the sooner you buy, the more likely to get the month you want)!

Finally, an event everyone can attend with ease - for the second year running! This event is all about what greyhounds do best - being couch potatoes extraordinaire. No volunteers, no driving, and no regrets about not being able to go! Stay tuned for the unveiling of the 2nd annual t-shirt. Join the Non-Event on Monday, September 2!

Strutt Your Mutt logo STRUT YOUR MUTT

It's that time of year again - when we strut our stuff for the GALT greyhounds. The best part is that you can strut anywhere - in your neighborhood, at the gym or even by just kicking back on your couch if that is your preferred style. The strut is on Saturday, September 28th - plenty of time to fundraise!

Dallas, aka Slatex Dallas, is a 2 1/2 year old black female born November 1, 2010. Her sire is Trent Lee and her dam is Slatex Isabella. Dallas has 60 races on record on, all at the Gulf Greyhound Park where she was a solid grade AA racer. She started her career on July 20, 2012 and finished it on August 11, 2013 with a broken right hock. She is scheduled for surgery at the Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center on Monday, August 26th.

Dottie, aka Cowgirl, is an 8-year-old white and black female born June 4, 2005. Her sire is Ethereal  Eagle and her dam is Rosalyn. Dottie never raced, preferring to head straight for an adoptive home where she lived for six years. Unfortunately, Dottie was not adapting well to the new addition of small children to her home, so she has joined the GALT family to search for a new retirement home. Dottie is cat tolerant.
