Greetings!

Leyla, aka Coldwater Leyla, is a 7½-year-old red female born May 12, 2005. Her sire is Coldwater Konow and her dam is Coldwater Anaya. Leyla has 100 races to her credit on Greyhound-data.com, all in Phoenix, AZ. She started on October 28, 2006 and finished up on May 15, 2009. She went on to have a litter of puppies with sire Coldwater Torres on June 6, 2010, two of whom are registered with the NGA.

Leyla has not yet been tested with cats or other small animals.

LeylaMy husband and I have been fostering Leyla for a month and a half. Leyla is absolutely one of our favorite foster girls ever ! She is always very happy and her spinning tail reflects that! She also has a very sweet and loving personality. She loves to play with her squeaky toys and sometimes gets so excited she throws them up in the air. She also loves to play ball outside. She has gotten pretty good and catches some of the balls in the air! She also enjoys chasing a squirrel or two if she gets a chance.

Leyla has great house manners. She is very food motivated and if she has to take medicine, she easily takes it wrapped in a little food! She does not get on the furniture and she is free to roam the house when we are at work. She doesn't bother anything in the house when we are gone. Sometimes, she collects her toys and puts them near the bed she is lying on. She has never had an accident in the house. She sleeps on a dog bed in our bedroom and doesn't get up at the night. Leyla also gets along with our other three female greyhound girls, who varying in ages from 5 to 10 years old. Leyla would make the best companion for someone who wants to have a sweet girl to play around with a bit with her stuffies, play some ball (5 to 7 minutes at most) and lounge around with in the evenings. We would adopt her ourselves if only our house were bigger...sigh.

HAPPY HOUNDS, HAPPY HOMES - JAZZY

Jazzy "It will only be for two or three days at most." That's what GALT's founding member Susie said when she asked if I could foster and evaluate a six month old greyhound puppy. Jazzy had been rescued from a kill shelter just 75 minutes prior to euthanasia. Her Oklahoma rescuer was already on her way bringing Jazzy to Dallas. The night before Jazzy displayed such strong reactive behaviors her rescuer thought she would not be adoptable.

The timing was not right to bring any puppy into my home, but the trainer in me just couldn't say no. So one year ago I brought Jazzy home to foster and train. Little did I know that Jazzy was really in her forever home.

JAZZY IS A VERY STRONG MINDED GIRL! She is smart and motivated. Every day with Jazzy is an opportunity to learn something new. In August, Jazzy & I will be competing in AKC Novice Rally Trials at Oklahoma State Fair Park. It is located just three miles away from the kill shelter that Jazzy was rescued from. I don't expect her performance to be perfect but I know her beauty and motivation will make her an audience favorite.
