Greetings!
Please meet Caprice, our featured hound of the week! Caprice is a darling 11½-year-old senior gal who lives with cats and other greyhounds in her foster home.
From Caprice's Foster Parents:
Caprice is a senior girl but don't tell her that! She acts like a 5 year old, following us from room to room. She is a velcro dog who loves attention but not in a demanding way - she's just happy to be in the same room with you.
She enjoys her morning walk and wants to greet everyone she sees. She is good on a leash, walking with her foster brother and sister. She lives with 2 cats, she likes to follow them on occasion but only to see where they go.
She appears to be fine with all sizes of dogs; she visits with several on her walks. Her house manners are impeccable, no issues. She will sleep until we get up, we let her out soon after.
Caprice is a loving girl with soft silky fur, she loves to be stroked and talked to. She has adjusted quickly to our home and we feel certain she would easily make the transition to a forever home. If you are looking for a sweet, loving grey, please consider Caprice!
Seniors still have lots of love to give! Come meet Caprice soon.

CONGRATULATIONS! Congratulations to Dolce Gambino, fka Lee, who was just awarded his AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate!
Just before his third birthday, Dolce passed his AKC Canine Good Citizen test. The test consists of 10 items, including loose lead walking, sitting, staying and walking through a crowd. Food, treats and toys are not permitted during testing. Despite the lack of treats, Dolce passed with flying colors. Less than a year later, Dolce passed his Therapy Dogs International test and became certified for therapy work.
On January 1, 2013, the AKC officially changed Canine Good Citizen from an award to a title. Subsequently Dolce earned his first AKC title of "CGC". Now Dolce is working towards his AKC Therapy Dog title, which entails performing at least 50 therapy visits. To learn more about the certification programs, visit the following links: |

INCOMING GREYHOUNDS
Chelsi is a 4-month-old black female born in September 2012. She is not tattooed and was found in Oklahoma on a Craigslist listing. She joined the GALT family with the help of volunteer Chelsi. It's suspected that she may be Phoebe's littermate.
Goldie is a 1-year-old smooth-coated staghound female born January 27, 2012. She is a beautiful light fawn color. She arrived from a hunting farm in Oklahoma, however Goldie was never trained nor used hunting. She is very, very friendly and people oriented!
Camille is a 2-year-old white & brindle female born in December 2010. She was picked up as a stray by Fort Worth Animal Control & Care and from there joined the GALT family. She is very thin at only 38.3 pounds and in need of TLC. Her tattoos are 120B and the right one is double tattooed, but is being researched. Her bloodwork is pending. Camille is in need of some serious weight gain, as she could easily be a 60 pound greyhound at her normal weight.
Echo is a young black female who was picked up as a stray off of I35-W and joined the GALT family from the Humane Society of North Texas. She is double tattooed, but we are trying to read what we can and research them.
Ziva is an 11-month-old fawn female born in Feburary 2012 to dam Menasha and sire Fuzzy's War Bird. She never quite made it to the racing circuit, and now she's looking for a forever home!
