Greetings!
As 2012 draws to a close, it is time to pause and reflect on the year at GALT. We are so very grateful for you and your ongoing support of the greyhounds, not only in GALT's program, but in similar programs across the nation and around the globe. It takes each and every one of us to accomplish what we do - find wonderful, committed homes for these deserving companions and give love and comfort to the seriously ill ones in their final days. We are sure you agree that all our lives are richer for having them in our homes and hearts.
GALT is very careful with your donations and likes to be transparent in how these dollars are used. Through November 2012, we spent over $232,400 to care for the hounds. Here's an overview of those expenses. - Boarding - $34,500
- Routine medications and vaccines - $30,300
- Vet care (including surgery for broken legs) - $150,300
- Protatek testing for tick-borne diseases - $9,500
- Transportation/Kennel Supplies - $7,850
GALT depends solely on donations to provide this standard of care to each and every greyhound who comes into our care and to achieve our goal of "No Grey Turned Away."
Won't you please consider a donation to GALT today?
Sincerely,
The Officers, Directors, and Committee Members of Greyhound Adoption League of Texas, Inc.

NEWS YOU CAN USE
Kids and dogs can be a match made in heaven when everything works right, but it does take work. Not just work to make sure your dog is "kid friendly" but also work to make sure your kids are "dog friendly." The best dog in the world around kids can snap if subjected to too much abuse. It's important to make sure your dog is respected as a member of the family, as this excellent Crates and Cribs blog post points out.
