NEWS YOU CAN USE

Trimming your dog's toenails is an important part of maintaining good health. Nails that are too long can cause foot problems! If you use a Dremel style sanding tool, be sure you don't hold it on one nail for more than a few seconds or uncomfortable heat can build up. If you use clippers, take small snips until you can see the small grey dot of the quick on the bottom of the nail. Make sure you have something nearby to stop bleeding in case you hit the quick - Kwik Stop is a good styptic powder, but corn starch will work if you don't have any.
PEDAL FOR PAWS

Join us for the 1st annual Pedal for Paws event! A mountain bike challenge benefiting GALT. On Saturday, November 10th from 1-3pm, we'll be gathered with our mountain bikes at the LB Houston Nature Preserve trail. Prizes will be awarded for fastest lap and most laps completed!

All skill levels welcome, or just come hang out with your dog. For all the details, go to www.PedalForPaws.org.

INCOMING GREYHOUNDS

Milady, aka Bohemian Milady, is a 4-year-old black female born March 17, 2008. Her sire is Rhythmless and her dam is Bohemian Shimmer. Milady has just three races to her credit on Greyhound-data.com, all at Gulf Greyhound Park in November and December of 2010. She was just not destined for a racing career, but we know she'll be a winner in the adoption arena!

Twiggie, aka TMC's Crownjewel, is a 1.5-year-old white & black female born April 21, 2011. Her sire is Rythmless and her dam is TMC's Jiffy, making her a half-sister to Milady and littermate to GALT's Lucky. Twiggie has not raced, preferring instead to head straight for retirement and a leisurely life as a pet.
