The Oregon legislature is about to make final funding decisions in this current legislative session that is expected to end in June. Several bills that will reduce hunger still need action. T ell Legislators that food is a basic need and a key priority for you, your community, and our State.

What to say:
"I'm voicing my support for Oregon's food programs that will help reduce hunger, and as my elected official, I hope you will too. Please pass the following bills to help Oregonians who are experiencing hunger."
- Afterschool meals for hungry children. HB 2729 will provide mini-grants to afterschool enrichment programs so they can serve meals to hungry kids after school.
- Fresh Oregon-grown produce for mothers, children and seniors. HB 2921 and SB 456 will reduce the waiting li
st for fresh fruits and vegetables through the Farm Direct Nutrition Program, and will help Oregon farmers.
- Increased food distribution through the Oregon Food Bank network. $3 million for the Oregon Hunger Response Fund is critical for getting more food to hungry people across the State.
