Emily Gottfried - a passionate advocate leaves us
On January 27, 2013, Oregon lost a passionate advocate for justice. Emily Gottfried served on the Oregon Faith Roundtable Against Hunger for many years, providing song, humor and a strong desire for ending hunger in Oregon. Emily's presence will be missed but not forgotten.

Welcome, new PHFO Board Members!
We are delighted to announce the addition of three new members to the PHFO Board of Directors: Jaime Arredondo, Priscilla Lewis and Suzanne Feeney. In this issue we will Suzanne Feeney.

Dr. Suzanne Feeney has been involved in the fields of higher education and nonprofits locally, nationally and internationally since completing her doctorate at the University of Washington in 1984.

Suzanne directed the Institute for Nonprofit Management first at Lewis & Clark College and then at  Portland State University. In the 1990s, through Portland State University's Hatfield School of Government, the Institute for Nonprofit Management and Portland area leaders of color collaborated to develop a leadership development program for African Americans and Hispanics.

Apart from her teaching, Suzanne has been a consultant, focusing on boards of directors, strategic planning, leadership development and international development (with an emphasis on women in poverty). Recently, Suzanne has dedicated her time to working with nongovernmental organizations in India focused on women's development and leadership through microfinance.
