January 2017

Blessings for the New Year!
The New Year is an ideal time for Christians to celebrate with prayers and songs as they reflect on the past and make plans for the coming year. It's time to start singing the traditional song, "Go Tell It on the Mountain". As you sing the words, think about the way your words and actions tell others about the Son of God,
whose birth you have celebrated.

 Blessings,

Bible Memory Presentations
First to Fifth Grade Classes

During NextGen Kids Time, we have a fun program to encourage kids to learn some biblical foundations: The Lord's Prayer, Books of the Bible, Ten Commandments, and the Apostles' Creed. The purpose is to instill God's Word into children's hearts. Bible memorization helps us find comfort, fight sin, and know our God. During NextGen Kids each grade will plan a way to present their Bible memorization as a class. The following dates are when their class will do their presentation.

January 15 - 5th Grade: Apostles' Creed
January 22 - 4th Grade: Ten Commandments
January 29 - 3rd Grade: Books of the Bible(Old Testament)
February 5 - 2nd Grade: Books of the Bible(NewTestament)
February 12 - 1st Grade: The Lord's Prayer
Fifth Grade
'Duck & Dive' Day
Sunday, Jan 29, 12:15-1:30 p.m.

Join us for an afternoon of fun and fellowship. Fifth graders will meet in the Life Center for some good-old-fashioned dodge-ball and enjoy pizza after the games.
INVITE A FRIEND! Parents are welcome to join in the fun too.
NextGen Kids Christmas Service
South Fort Collins

A huge thank you to all of the children in NextGen Kids who retold the Christmas story and shared with us God's Recipe for love. God's gift of love, simple as it came, was the gift of Jesus, and we are all called to tell the story. We have hope, joy, peace and love because of Jesus. We hope you take time this Christmas to share Gods Recipe for love by delivering a plate of cookies to a neighbor, a friend or someone in need. A special thank you to the numerous volunteers who helped with the service.

volunteer Want a mission? Want to connect with kids & families?

Children ages Preschool through 5th Grade need someone who cares, knows their name, encourages them, makes them feel important-someone they can count on. Above all, kids need someone who has a desire to help teach them about God. If you are interested in Subbing, helping or teaching Saturdays or Sundays please let us know.

Prayer ideas for families
Everyday ideas to build lasting faith in your kids
Each weekend our NextGen Kids are spending time in prayer and we are encouraging kids to write down or say their personal prayer requests. You can do this at home too, sharing in prayer time is a wonderful way to grow in your faith as a family.

Prayer Ideas:
  • Keep prayers simple so that you can think about those prayers throughout your day.
  • When teaching children to pray, always thank God first.  (thank God for his love, thank God for what he has done for us)
  • Keep your prayers specific so that when God answers, you will clearly see His work in your life.
  • Encourage children to say prayers of praise. (blessings, thanks for, answered prayers)
  • Prayer for family, friends, and anyone that God puts on your heart.
prayer journal ideas:
  • Record prayers of praise: blessings, thoughts of gratitude and answered prayers
  • Record prayers for your family members
  • Record prayers for friends
  • Record prayers for anyone else that God puts on your heart to pray for. (teachers, coaches, neighbors, our country's leaders, even your enemies)
