International Fair - February 5 |
On Tuesday, February 5, 2013, the Lydiksen Multipurpose room will be filled with the beautiful displays of over 20 countries.
During the school day (9-2:55 PM) students will have the opportunity to "travel" with their own personal passport to each country. Each exciting display will feature facts about their culture, heritage and the arts.
In the evening (6-8 PM) we welcome families and friends to enjoy a variety of music and dance performances, as well as delicious food samples from around the globe. Performances will start promptly at 6pm. We will be selling water and our International Fair Cookbooks.
We encourage all students to wear their national attire to school on the day of the International Fair Tuesday 2/5!
Come join us, as we celebrate our rich culture here at our Lydiksen Elementary School!!

From the Health Room |
During cold and flu season, please review with your child the importance of proper hand washing and germ control.
- Please teach them to cough into the crook of the elbow and not on their hand. Coughing on their hands contributes to the spread of germs on items that are touched prior to washing.
- In addition, children need to be fever - free for 24 hours after an illness before they may return to school, without the aid of Tylenol or Advil, which may suppress the fever.
- Please do not send a child to school who has vomited in the morning or the night before.
Thank you for your help in keeping students healthy, and for your promptness in calling the attendance line (461-4382) each day your child misses school. |

Forum for Parents of Children in
Special Needs or Resource | |
Lydiksen Parents of Children in Resource or Special Needs Forum. Parents, please join us on Tuesday, February 12th, at 10:30 a.m. in the backroom of Cafe Main, 401 Main Street, across from Tully's Coffee. This Lydiksen Parent Support Group discusses the issues of parenting children with special needs or learning difficulties, and it's a chance to learn and support one another. Parents will have the opportunity to share ideas, strategies, and resources that have worked well in their families, and give those starting out in the special day classes and resource programs a chance to learn from those who have
"been there, done that".
Please email Regina Stoops, a fellow Lydiksen Mom, with any questions about this informal forum and support group at berrystoops@comcast.net.
