Plan to attend the MAPCS October 2nd

Day on the Hill.  This is your opportunity to educate legislators about the contribution that private career schools make to the Commonwealth's economy and workforce.

Making contact with policy makers is the best way to spread the positive message that private sector colleges and universities and more importantly, their students and graduates, have to share.

Call For Volunteers

MAPCS is seeking volunteers to serve on the Board of Directors.

The MAPCS Board is responsible for ensuring that the association stays on track in meeting the organization's mission, services, policies and programs.

Board members have a fiduciary responsibility to review and approve the association's budget and financial strategy.  They approve major policies, serve on committees or task forces, take on special assignments and promote the association to others in the private career school industry.

You can also volunteer for one of the MAPCS committees, which plan educational programs, set legislative strategies, and develop membership recruitment and retention campaigns.

As a committee volunteer you can help the association, make sure your school and/or company's interests are heard and have more opportunities to network with your colleagues.

If you are interested in volunteering to serve on the MAPCS Board, Membership, Government Affairs or Education Committees please contact Cathy Flaherty.

You can also click here to download and complete the Committee Volunteer Form.
AG Regulations
Massachusetts Attorney General Coakley Issues Final Regulations

Attorney General Martha Coakley has finalized amendments to existing regulations that will affect the way all private post-secondary schools operate in Massachusetts.  The regulations were promulgated on June 20, 2014.

MAPCS is concerned that the regulations, although amended are still broad reaching and in some cases overly burdensome.  Plus some parts of the new regulations may be in direct contrast to those under development by the Massachusetts Division of Professional Licensure.

The regulations address a host of issues including advertising, disclosure requirements, recruitment, student loans, placement rates and graduation rates.

MAPCS is currently reviewing the regulations and the impact they will have on a school's ability to operate in Massachusetts.

MAPCS urges all school to read the regulations carefully and provide feedback on which parts are of greatest concern. We value your input and will take you comments under consideration as we decide on next steps.
