Whatcom Food & Farm Finder Distribution

Early March, times & days are flexible

Think Local logo

Before the new F&FF hit the shelves, we would still like to distribute the rest of 2012 maps to businesses with empty holders.  Can you help to distribute?  One route is around downtown Bellingham/Fairhaven, and another route is around the county. Vehicles make this delivery job much easier and we will pay mileage.

If you can help with the Farm Finder distribution please contact Sara@sconnect.org or 647-7093 x114.

Poster Distribution

Early March, times & days are flexible

We have a few Love your Local Independent Business posters to be distributed around downtown Bellingham.  What a great way to help out and window shop at the same time!

If you can help with poster distribution please contact MGrandy@sconnect.org or 647-7093 x110.

We Still Need Bees!

Saturday, March 16th, St. Paddy's Day Parade downtown

The Think Local First campaign is looking for volunteers to dress like the Be Local Bee for the St. Patrick's Day Parade Saturday, March 16th. The parade starts at noon. Those participating in the parade should show up at least ½ hour early for staging. The parade starts at the corner of Ohio and Cornwall and ends on Railroad Ave. in front of Bellingham Bay Brewery.
We have total of 8 bee costumes and are happy to have a swarm of bees, bee families or single bees too.

Costumes can be picked up any weekday prior to the parade. Volunteers will also be given Think Local stickers to hand out to parade watchers.
The costumes are one size fits all and will fit kids who are at least 3.5 ft tall.

For more details about the parade visit www.stpatsbham.com.  Contact Michelle if you can help with being a Bee, MGrandy@sconnect.org or 647-7093 x110.

Member Connect Breakfast help

Thursdays, March 21st and April 18th.

Held the third Thursday of the month, Member Connect is a lively and fun networking opportunity for our members. Join us to make connections, find ways to do business locally, and learn about available resources. The meeting is led by the Upfront Theatre and Sustainable Connections with a more formalized and structured networking approach.

We are looking for 1-2 volunteers to help get breakfast ready & set up the room for Member Connect on March 21st & April 18th.  Volunteer would meet Abby at The Upfront at 6:45am, help lay out breakfast and set up tables, be able to participate in the networking session (unless there is an odd number in the room) and then help clean up.  We are usually out of there by 8:45/9:00.  Breakfast, coffee & tea is provided.

If you can help with the set up and clean up of these meetings, please contact Abby@sconnect.org or 647-7093 x103.

Annual Meeting and Party with the Community Food Co-op

March 16th, various shifts

Participate in the Co-op's biggest (and snazziest) event of the year at the Bellingham Cruise Terminal. We can't do it without your help and volunteering at the AMP is FUN!

If you have any trouble connecting to the on line site or signing up for a shift let me know and I can help you.

This Annual Meeting and Party and the Summer party are where we most need volunteers.
