Article1Pets Compete for Top "Spot"

Is Spot Hot...or Not? That's the big question posed by our 2015 pet photo contest! At its heart, though, is the idea that every pet is lovable and worthy of love...even with a face only a mother could love! Entry is free, the prizes are fantastic, and every votes helps a shelter pet. Enter, vote and share today!

When Jacqueline W. Sword passed away last December, a simple sentence in her obituary resonated deeply with us: "Her love for animals was remarkable!" Indeed, Jackie supported the work of Valley Humane Society for nearly two decades. In addition, her legacy continues in the form of a $25,000 bequest left to help the animals she loved so dearly. We are honored and grateful to receive such a kind gift on behalf of the dogs and cats in our community. Thank you, Jackie.
Article32015 Final Foster Workshops
With limited room in our adoption center, Valley Humane Society relies upon foster volunteers to help us rescue more animals. Opening your home to help socialize a shy dog, raise a litter of kittens, or provide a quiet place to heal, can be a rewarding experience. We make it easy by providing all supplies and plenty of support. Join us for a foster workshop on October 24 or November 14 to learn more. These will be the last foster workshops of 2015.

HappilyHomeHappily Home: Tabitha
Last spring, Tabitha was at Valley Humane Society wishing for her forever family. Then Karen walked into our adoption center, and in the blink of an eye, Tabitha found her wish granted! The two have conjured up a great life together. Renamed Pearl because of her "cute little pearly paws," it seems as though this magical tortie and her mom were destined to be together! Read more...
